I went to the airport a while back and shouted "SERRANO'S GOT THE DISKS! SERRANO'S GOT THE DISKS!" The TSA agents didn't find that as amusing as I did. That was the first time I have ever been given a colonoscopy by a federal employee.
I have seen this movie at least 10 times. It has all the kinds of transportations in USA and all kinds of action, suspense, every minute is a suspense and interesting. I have almost by hearted the dialogues through out the picture. Great movie!!!
7:40 of course this was before 9-11...No way in hell would four goons with drawn guns get far walking in the middle of the airport today, even without the FBI...
@apollo792 even without the guns drawn, they won't get away with it, because they stick out and they look way too suspicious..Airports have a lot of "non busy" employees standing around not doing much but people watching..Example, airport janitors(city employees), and countless TSA agents(Totally Standing Around)...At LAX for example, TSA agents are like roaches, they're everywhere..
Dennis Farina made a pretty mean gangster in this movie. On the flip-side, he played a pretty mean cop in "Crime Story", which he filmed in Vegas along with "Midnight Run"!
So a guy tells you he's gonna kill you, then go home eat dinner. After that go find your wife then kill her, then backhands you after saying all that...damn
"Since we have this moment to share together, there's something i've been meaning to ask you. Doesn't it bother you... that another copper's fucking your wife? Do you know they made this guy a captain? Can you imagine that? Go figure it out, made him a captain."
De Niro's reaction to that was amazing. True acting!! Classic De Niro!!
@wlhardy That's no rumor. Farina was indeed a Chicago police officer. (which makes this roll really show his acting range). He also was a consultant on the movie Heat.
OOOh so saying the F word makes you a man. What a small mind and vocabulary you must have. Conversation with you on the world's problems would last about 30 seconds.
You see he was wearing clean white shirt and white undershirt at the beginning of the movie. By the end, after 4 days wearing the same clothes they are brown.
They Should Renam the movie Smoking on the Run. Really, Great Movie. However, there is so much smoking in this movie I could smell the smoke coming out of the tv!
Currently printed denominations are $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100. Notes above the $100 denomination ceased being printed in 1946 and were officially withdrawn from circulation in 1969.
Maybe, but it is down to the banks to remove the money from circulation. When any large denomination notes are presented for deposit they are returned to the Federal Reserve for a refund. If the criminals store their cash away from banks then they will still have very large denomination notes. According to wikipedia there are 336 $10,000 bills; 342 $5,000 bills; and 165,372 $1,000 bills as of May 2009.
"Tonight is the fucking night..........you understand.........I'm sick of all these god damn screw ups" Dennis Farina plays a funny role. Robert DeNiro is not stupid. He doesn't want to get the duke together because Dennis Farina will kill them both.
"Sydney....sit down....relax....have a sandwich, drink a glass of milk.....do some fuckin thing". Love Farrinas character in this. More great lines in this movie than just about any movie ever made.....
Cerrano's got the disks-- Cerrano's got the disks!!! Very underrated flick. Grodin, DeNiro, Yaphet Kotto, John Ashton and Dennis Farina are wonderfully cast.
That's a great Deniro lick, he always likes repeating words.. does it throughout this film and others too. + yeah the casting here is amazing, Farina is really nasty and violent looking, I was always scared of him.
Never seen it but used to like him in the tv show HOMICIDE. I read a brief biography of Yaphet recently. He has a very interesting background. His dad was a king of Cameroon and also he's Jewish--not that religion is big deal--just interesting that's all.
I went to the airport a while back and shouted "SERRANO'S GOT THE DISKS! SERRANO'S GOT THE DISKS!" The TSA agents didn't find that as amusing as I did. That was the first time I have ever been given a colonoscopy by a federal employee.

Just one thing. Did they really have to use this many F-words in the movie. At times, it's such a huge turn off. And so is the smoking.
But a great movie nevertheless.
