  • Just great. I love it. Wonderful way of making practice more creative and more fun. I'm a student at JBGI also. Jimmy Bruno is inspiring a whole new generation of jazz guitarists -- worldwide. See you in the Master Classes.

  • sorry it took me so long to reply!

    It's called a Boomerang Pedal.

  • This creation was my idea, as far as creativity. For soloing I applied what I learned at JBGI.

The tonal center of the backing track never changes from E major. So everything I played is based upon the E major scale. The 5 shapes in E major.

I can't recommend JBGI enough. I fully intend on becoming an adept Jazz player, but that doesn't mean I'll stop playing other music I'm interested in, in fact it helps tremendously with other styles.

    Thanks for watching!

Hope to see you at JBGI!

  • Hey Marcel,

I've been playing guitar for about 8 years. Mostly self taught and learning from records and stuff.

The 5 shapes really, really, really, helped me see the whole fingerboard better.

Basically it's like being able to play the whole major scale up and down the neck with no breakage in the line. It helped me to "fill in the gas" and connect ideas I had before.

Basically after about a couple of weeks of practicing the 5 shapes, I was able to play with much more fluidity.

  • Haha, I meant to say "fill in the gaps" not "gas".
