@bonds911 oh yeah man for a stright line drag the supra has amazing speed, and it is far easier to extract power from a supra or a skyline. I have about 20k worth of HKS mods lined up that will put me around 600-650hp at the wheels, then that will be all i want, cause on a tight tack i cant use anymore and thats what i got my baby for :) but spend that on a skyline or supra and yeah you will have a highway weapon.

@1arisj1 The R34, when it came out, was one of the slowest cars in Japan. Hindered by the horsepower limit, and the fact that it got heavier didnt help. An evo 9 would beat the R34 GTR in a straight line and around a track. See the best motoring videos for proof. However, with a 2.6l and 6 cylinders, its much easier to get more power when modifying.

The Evo would definatly win in acceleration, however they are pretty much equal. It's quite obvious the Skyline would beat the Evo if the Skyline has more HP, but with equal? can´t beat twin turbo with bigger displacement. Here evo shows better power pickup, but at same power level will evo have to use more agressive boost and its pickup will suffer moderately from rolling start and light throttle load...

@DaveMoneyquantrilly i beg to differ. im stationed in japan and own a r32 skyline here and own a camaro in the states. v8s are cheaper(to mod) and more reliable still. the fast imports here have 20k plus worth of mods for only about 500-600hp. my camaro cost less than that to mod and makes over 500 all motor. but in all honesty, it doesnt matter. they are all money pits once you start heavily modding them.

You can get a decent condition 32 GTR for around $25k (AUS). You should proably check out the history of skyline to have a look at what sort of records that 32 holds. They banned FI in v8 Supercars back in the day 'cause the skyline raped anything it was put against.
