Good thoughts, i feel the same way, "less is more". the more u try, the more u fail. The less u do, the more u get done. dunno why but it works that way.
Darren, what kind of camera setup are you using for these videos? Have you covered that in a previous video or blog post? The image quality is superb.
Darren I think I'm going to actually try to add more, while taking somethings out. I run a video game blog and while I can write 10 or more articles each day I've noticed that they don't all get read by everyone, or thousands of people. Only a small amount get read by thousands. So I want to start writing less articles, and focus more on marketing for the time being, once I get more visitors I plan to focus more on the writing again. But I can't write that many articles and market together.
We can only hold so much at once. Rather than concentrating on productivity I focus on effectiveness. I try to leverage the power of each act so I have more time to do exactly what I want to do.
I think that I was meant to watch this video today as it is most timely. I'm trying to fit so many things into my day at the moment and although I love everything that I do, I'm not sure that I can sustain my current pattern. Some things will have to go or at least be cut back.......deciding which is the problem though. How do we decide?
One of your best videos Darren. You should be a personal development speaker. Brian Tracy said "Perhaps the very best question that you can memorize and repeat, over and over, is, "what is the most valuable use of my time right now?"
Great content :) I can certainly empathise with you. I have limited time to spend working on and in my business due to the fact that my other job is as a mother. I am constantly trying to find more ways to be productive but in doing so I'm spending less time working in my business, crazy! If I just got on with it, I'd get things done anyway. Outsourcing is one thing we can do for better productivity but this also takes time and effort. We also need to just give ourselves a break once in a while.
We tend to want to put on our superhero cape and run out to conquer the world. And, maybe for a time, we are successful at it, but there comes a point where we do have to become more selective about the things that are really important. And, maybe the superhero cape comes out in full force only for specific things and people. Of course, that would mean that we're not really super heroes...but to those people we really focus our energies on, we are. Being selective = more time + productivity.
I think you're absolutely right, Darren. With all of the tools, tips and tricks to become more productive, we are in fact adding more and more "into our own bags", as you mention. I think the solution is to prioritize based not only on necessities, but what your ideal lifestyle is and what you are already doing that gets you there, and taking out what you don't really need. It can be tough, because I know exactly how hard it is to let go of things, especially when they are fun & exciting.
What camera do you use? The quality is good.

Productivity requires new strategies, new ways of wiring the brain so that teams can access their full potential and learn to manage resistance.

Hi Darren,
The analogy is fitting.
We can only hold so much at once. Rather than concentrating on productivity I focus on effectiveness. I try to leverage the power of each act so I have more time to do exactly what I want to do.
Thanks for sharing :)
