  • i tried it with 40 Gb maxtor i have alot of them watc my vid :D it was fun!

  • @vcamnowaa the sound is generated by the servo which is moving the header arms to the signal you are feeding it, this spreads the waveform to the arms, platters and the air making sound.

  • even though this video is one year old, i really enjoyed it, I'm surely gonna try this with an old HDD !! Thanks Again !

By the way : nice Titanic music ;) !

  • it shape like a turntable but nope.. like music in a hard drive...

  • that was awsome!!!!! iv got an old samsung 1 gb and its gonna be a speaker :D

  • @ZTEK1001 Awesome good luck.

  • @vcamnowaa thx

  • @ZTEK1001 Your Welcome

  • How come you're not uploading anymore videos right now?

  • @tonythecomputer03 I've got lots I just made some and will be uploaded very shortly!

  • My HDD doesn't have the "Easy Access" solder points, it the Western Digital 40GB

  • @silverperzon Yeah some HDD's Have different solder location points!

  • @vcamnowaa I just need to know where the solder points are, because there are some that scattered all over the place, Its the same HDD from "Your HDD collection video" The Western Digital 40GB, with one platter (or disc)

  • @silverperzon The Solder Points are inside the HDD some times they are on the reader stick! they points are always inside the hard drive you just need to find 2 little silver solder points!

  • @vcamnowaa I already opened it

  • @silverperzon did you find the points?

  • @vcamnowaa No I did not

  • @silverperzon Well every hard drive is different and the solder points could be any where it could be on the Reader arm!

  • @vcamnowaa I'll keep looking

  • @vcamnowaa ok. and I'll get to it when I don't have alot of homework, which rarely happens

  • @silverperzon Wow your school must be crazy with home work the teachers at my school don't believe in home work so that means we don't get any!

  • @vcamnowaa You're right about that! and you're lucky

  • @silverperzon thanks

  • OH wow! That's amazing! Do all hard disks have those solder points that you can use to make a speaker with? Is there a way to make the sound quality a little better? That's really cool though! Maybe if my Four gig Maxtor drive is really dead then, I'll go ahead and give this a try. I wonder how it will handle some hard techno and hard rock... Maybe even some Scream-O. :D. I should try this out and see how it works.

  • @Unicornguy Yep all HDD's Have the solder points but some times they are in hard to reach places! and sometimes they are really small well if you have one of those old 6 platter hard drives the sound will improve by 50% to boost up the volume on a 2 platter HDD you need a Desktop speaker with a head phone jack!

  • @vcamnowaa Oh ok. That makes sense! Ok, I'll take a look at one of my hard drives... I don't think it's totally dead... Atleast I hope. But it might be. A six platter HD. Oh boy. I know I don't have one of those. I might have a three or four platter HD ,but I'm not sure. I'll give it a shot one day when I have nothing to do.

  • @Unicornguy Ok hope it all works out!

  • @vcamnowaa Thanks!
