  • Your playing is very good, cosidering your age, is amazing, Bravo, I hope I can hear you play Bach

  • trop de fautes

  • Excellent performance! Liszt would be most proud!!

  • A typical boring conservatory performance.

  • Distinctively, one of the most overestimated pianists ever seen in public! There are several 10 year old children, highly talented or trained, who are able to so much more!

  • @Abraeumer83 Distinctively, one of the saddest trolls ever seen in public! There are several amoebas, highly talented or trained, who are able to ? so much more!

  • Best version I've heard on youtube.Lisa really captures the drama, something most pianists fail to do.

  • @mrbrianmccarthy clean your ears out there are far better watch enrico pace for one but richter is the best

  • @afertyus1000 Clean your ears out? Heyyyy---easy there pal. My ears are just fine.

  • What a life-celebrating live recording! Liszt would have been so proud. Wish I was there...

  • I strongly believe this is a great performance, having heard several interpretations of this wonderful piece, including those by Cortot and Cziffra. There are Youtubers who disagree (whose aggressive and pityful comments are fun to read - but not serious), but this remains a fantastic example of pianistic storytelling that I hope many will enjoy !

  • Lise i think you aré very spiritual girl congratulations , briliant

  • First Jesus and now St. Francis walking on the water.

    Does anybody believe this nonsense?

  • @rationalistx Liszt obviously did, judging from the music!

  • Reminiscent of another Helene Grimaud or Jean Yves Thibaudet, both promoted heavily in virtuoso repertoire but both who 15-20 years later never realized careers as top technicians of the keyboard. It's already clear in sections such as 5:25-6:21 where technical challenges are not met with the aggression of the top technicians. Compare Kissin (Rachmaninoff) and Tiempo (Chopin 3rd Sonata finale and his special Etude) in virtuoso repertoire from the same age. She is good, not great.

  • @classicalalways You make it sound like she's no better than a college piano major playing her senior recital. Are you kidding?

  • @cfkliber If you consider Grimaud a great pianist, you show that you are not familiar with great piano playing. Her Chaconne is perfectly mediocre (try Michelangeli), her Beethoven is certainly not up there with great Beethoven pianists, her Rachmaninoff 2nd Sonata is amateur compared to Horowitz (somehow Kempf made a good showing in the work, so need not be a giant to compare to Horowitz)... Compare either Le Salle or Grimaud to Lugansky - that is a good pianist.

  • @classicalalways yes right on the button!

  • @cfkliber I suppose it is ok to be a cheerleader not knowing what you are saying, but informed criticism is not. Since both pianists have limited dynamic range (if you have heard them live) and both perform very much in the modern non-spontaneous style, they already have two strikes against their playing. Sure, there are modern players like Lupu that are highly sensitive musicians - but the girls are certainly not there. They just look good on the cover though, which is today's society.

  • le best

  • soooooooooo absolutely beautiful....

I can "see" St. Francois walking on the waves better than I could if were on the beach. Thanks Liszt, thanks Lise, thanks for the post.

  • Quelle émotion!

  • It wouldn't be perfect but it's excellent! Brava!

  • such square phrases that do not breathe or mark their own. Liszt was a different composer. This performance has drive ,verve ,good tonal variety but this is not a big epic Lisztian style -like Obermann it needs force more rythmic novelty.this is not Liszt.rallentando,Breathe and play within and over the bars. HUGO'sERNANI set the stage for the early Romantics in poetry it signalled the death of the BARLINE . This is critically important in this music!

  • beautiful

  • and that for a 16 year old one!

  • I think the best interpretation on you tube....

  • Your comment is bullshitful.

  • wow, you're amazing!

my teacher just gave me this piece to play today, and i'm very excited to play it. :)

  • @somaking77 She was 16 years old when she played this!?

  • @MandA4JC i just learnt it and i'm only 9

  • @MandA4JC Because,her soul maybe a hungarian...MAGYAR.

  • I adore her!

  • c'est génial il n'y à rien dire

  • sublime

    j'adore les basses à 7:58

    continue !!!!!

  • Enoooorme! Quel travail Lise!

Tu vas droit au but ! Tu joues comme j'aime l'entendre ! C'est sincère !
