When I first got "Rick rolled" I didn't get it either I thought it was just a random song placed on the middle of the video, I first got Rick Rolled in a video where the "gotcha" wasn't decent, the video was a trailer from a youtube user series. Then later I finally got the joke.

The "rick roll" joke is this, say you were about to watch a video but what you were expecting wasn't right.

This was track 1 and the 1st single from Rick's 1st album "Whenever You Need Somebody" from 1987 and was the only song I learned by this hip 1980's pop artitst. I tied this song into the Season 2 Full House episode "Tanner vs. Gibbler"
