Firstly Donie (the rally driver) is a friend, neighbour and a member of the Killarney District Motor Club of which we are heavily involved. This is our local rally and we are very proud of our event and our members. To explain in simple english to those who dont understand, He was on DRY tires, hit the standing water kicking the car out forcing it to crash, The fence he landed on possibly saved his life as there is approx 30-40 metre drop on the other side. This driver actually holds the stage record for this stage (molls gap) or he did last time i checked so he has plenty of experience thanks very much!! The driver was wrong. he turned the wheel over the water, a more experienced driver would have waited a second before running the curve
