looks really good - a nice starting motor project. it probably ran for so long becuase it was not under load, so very little power output. it would probably last half as long tied to an l.e.d. as suggested, but its still a better achievement than i've ever accomplished ;)

check the RPM in the mid charge or when the charge it mid-done, i bet it's a lot less then at first.

Rock solid. I have a question for any newman enthusiast out there. What magnetic wire gauge is best for 9 volts and how many wraps for how big the diameter of the coil is. I know what I just said some laymen terms but I know there is math behind the answer. please help me with this, I will dedicate my newman motor video to anyone and everyone who helps me out. Thanks for the vid and keep up the good work! Nice to know some Americans are using their brain power on something constructive. Get back

TheB3e has a pretty good motor that runs off a single 9V. v=tx0rCLUe1lg In the end of the video it says 200 turns of 24 AWG magnet wire. The diameter of his motor is less than the diameter of an audio CD.

Nice job on video. 4 star These small motors are fun. If you want to get much response here you need a bigger motor. Keep your eyes open for some big free magnets. Have fun

Thanks! I'm planning to make a motor that is 4 times bigger than this one. I can get two coils about 25 * 100 feet for about $25 each. My next motor will be almost a mile long.
