if you paid any more attention to my first comment, you would notice that I said "this era." Doesn't this game take place just after the space-bridge is opened at the end of the Mombassa level in Halo 2? If so, then that means that the Elites are still working for the Covanent.

I have got this game and this is the info:

4 player co-op, 4 player firefight mode ( using live or no live), kind of a short story line, pistol has a scope, you can still break off turrets, hunters are harder, instead of shields you get stamina. 5 out of 5 AWESOME!!!

Hey smart alac 3xmortis, your the guy that needs to grow the brian. for all your halo lingo, you still get it wrong. this is nither the halo 1 nor halo 2 magnum. it is a special ops varient created for, well spec ops. It has siclencer and scope, but is not the strip down version found in halo 2. that was the c version as you said. It is basically a halo one pistol minus the explosive rounds which gave the halo 1 pistol its kick. i'm not even a halo geek amd i just visited the web site.

In halo 3 Odst you will not be able to dual weild... Yeah the campaign looks epic I can't wait and plus if you pre- order it you can play as Seargnt Johnson and you get invited to the halo reach beta I'm not sure if you have to pre order to get into the beta... And also the new vidmaster achievements seem impossible to get really and all I can't say about firefight is......... SOOO FREAKIN AWESOME!!!

its not hard to realize guys, it takes place between halo 2 and 3. at the end of two is when you team up with arbiter (all other elites as well), therefore, no killing elites, only the brutes.
