@Hodgey1989 Dude,a fighter doesn't have to fall down to be in dire straits when your brain gets scrambled you don't necessarily go down. there have been fighters who have received fatal blows while standing it doesn't mean it shouldn't be stopped = the refs are trained to see the signs that a fighter is in serious danger and protect that fighter if possible. lastly most fighters make gestures and complain when the fight nomatter how obviously good a call look at the judah/tszyu, ref did good.

People fight with broken limbs and massive cuts, as long as it doesn't risk permanent injury (like to the eyes or if you're bleeding to death), it's usually up to the fighter or the corner to stop it for cosmetic injuries. I'm not saying I would have kept going because I value my ears and am just not that hardcore, but Thompson looked like he was still down so the ref shouldn't have robbed him.
