Everyone's reaction time and response to an unexpected event is different. For me, it was a big deal as my wife and two toddlers were in the car. Yes, what he did was truly not that egregious. What was so surprising was that he drove that fast in a red passenger loading zone and almost hit the curb. If you let cars get that close to you in traffic (not the race track) without reacting...well, I'll have to take your word for it that you would not have reacted at all. Can we leave it at that?

Our Toyota Scion has more room in the front then most cars. My seat (passenger) is pushed 100% back. My petite wife's seat (driver) is 100% pushed forward. I am a full 12 inches or more BEHIND her peripherial vision. The camera is on 3x zoom making it look like it's pressed against the windshield. But, I'm holding it 4 feet or more behind the windscreen. The camera is a tiny Canon Elph, and fits in the palm of my hand. I am not obstructing her view in any way.

I've flown out this airport 36x in 3 mos. I know this turn. You're right, it's a wide entrance but QUICKLY funnels into 2 narrow lanes. The far right fire lane is not for traffic. We had 2 toddlers in the car. I wasn't happy about the dude missing us by less than 2ft. He later cut off another car. The guy was probably late for his flight. I understand that. Been there, done that. What I don't understand, is why you would want to defend that kind of driving.
