I grew up in what was once one of the punk capitals, so I'd like to think I know a little bit about what I'm talking about. Punk music isn't dead by any means, but there isn't any NEW punk. And don't say new blink 182, new Sum 41 etc etc etc. OR AFI. AFI used to be punk, listen the first album they ever made. You wouldn't know they're the same band if you listened to the first and last songs they have made (so far.) Rise Against sold out with Savior. WE NEED THIS GENERATION TO WRITE MORE PUNK.

I personally consider Rise Against, Sum 41, etc. to still be punk, and at the same time I can acknowledge that NOFX + the older punk is still amazing music. Why is it impossible to enjoy modern music, note that it isn't the same as older music, and then ENJOY both?

(Also, as a side comment, even the concept of punk is subjective.)
