  • HEY! i'm a English Premier League fan (Chelsea is my fav club) so my question is are the games on normal Japanese tv (which channel?) or only on sum cable network?

  • soccer (football) is so popular in Japan, that they do show a bunch of EPL games on regular J-TV, and you can usually watch with English commentary as well.

If you get a cable package with an all-sports channel, you can see even more games. I was able to watch one or two games a week in my rural area without cable.

  • why You do not eat sushi If I may ask???

  • I don't like fish/seafood of any kind. I wish I did like fish, cuz it would have made my life in Japan much easier, but I got by OK not eating fish.

  • I thought youtube allowed users to post videos longer then 10 min.?

  • i found out you can post up to 10min59sec - so 11min is the limit for regular users. Partners can post longer videos

  • You listen to Smodcast too! Kevin Smith is so freaking hilarious and raunchy. I just hope your neighbors never overheard it and figured out what they're saying!

  • wow, its prettty expensive in US dollars compared to UK money, 100Yen is like..80p

  • Any Mexican restaurants near you?

  • there are almost no Mexican restaurants in ALL of Japan, and certainly none in Shimane. I've only had good Mexican food in Japan once, in Fukuoka.

  • Ahh, a big football fan then? Or in your case, soccer?

  • yeah - my parents are from England, so I grew up with an appreciation for the game - and here in Japan, they're big soccer fans, so I get to see more UK matches than I would if I was living in America.

  • Ah that's cool, where abouts are they from? :)

  • London. My dad was a big QPR fan growing up.

  • Ah, that's so cool. :)

  • Just a suggestion, find out how to make your own tortillas, once you get started it doesn't take long to whip out 20 or 30 tortillas, and they refrigerate decently too. It will also cost less...

  • Yay Jason's Cooking!can't wait to see part 2..in fact i'm gonna watch it right now.you know jason...that 5$ cheese is not the most expensive cheese i saw...you shouls see cheese prices here in Quebec.but its true 5$ for cheese is not so cheap at all.

  • ok jason... what do you have against sushi? haha

  • I actually used to date a woman whose parents owned a sushi restaurant... :)

But I don't eat any fish - simply don't like the taste or smell

  • There must be many kinds of fish including crabs around there.Visiting local fish markets could encourge you to try some.

  • How was the New Years celebration at the Taisha?

  • very cool - should have my vids up on Myargonauts within the next few days.

  • sounds tasty :)

  • You should try Doritos, melt pepper jack cheese, and put it over the Doritos, they're delicious. Anyways, so far your meal looks quite good. I would probably eat all 5 tortillas and still be hungry. I am quite a large guy. =)

  • Great video, Jason. Hope your Hatsumode went well, also hope to see footage of the new year from the shrine.

  • Good to know that even in a more rural part of Japan you can find tortillas. :D I bet they don't have pepperjack cheese though, huh?

  • I'm looking forward to your endeavors.

Of course it would be funny if you did something Japanese, but preparing food from home can be even more adventurous because you often have to improvise in terms of ingredients.

Well, I was lucky enough to find flour, potatoes, eggs, diced bacon, and cream (for a local meal I cannot even translate into English because there's no standard German term I would know of)... but man, I missed lentil soup... no lentils anywhere in Hirosaki.
