slow it down man a couple notches , I know you can play these latin beats your just showing off half the time bro ,

  • manito te falta tienes que escuchar musica mas actual manito y no es critica mala

  • bro it sounds awesome but if you are trying to demonstrate how to play this pattern please slow down a bit and break it down too, thanks

  • man i need this one written down, are you able to send me a graph using letter to symbolize the tecniques like O= open tone S=slap B= bass and M=muffle tone. if you can could you help me, because i love the meregue beat.

  • There's one problem here: The first open shot is done on the quinto, not on the tumba. Everyone who doesn't play merengue make that mistake. Second, this is only one of many rythyms that are used in merengue.

  • muy buena tiene sabor hay 1 comentario negativo por ahi debe ser de un mediocre que cree saber mucho

  • Hey man i come from Puerto Rico and i dance alot of merengue. But that is not the only rhythm that the merengue have but you did an excelent job.

  • EXCELLENTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Simpler is sometimes better when you're learning a new beat, derbeno...and you've got a great lesson right there. Are those vintage Gon Bops you're playin'? You did a hell of a job playin' them, bro'! They sounded great!

  • muito bom!!!! marcelo pereira (brasil)

  • That is some VERY tight playing! You the man, superb.

  • this is great, who did you study with?

  • DERBENO! HEY HEY!

Dominican that I am, I will have to correct the Merengue pattern on this video in a very polite way! Not that you are wrong but I will give you more info!

I'm waiting for my digitan camera! My friend is using it..

    Nice congas.. Vingate indeed!

  • No problem. I know this is a simplified version. Look forward to yours. All the best

  • hey man...what size are those congas and what tuning you got them on roughly. I'm struggling to find a good sound on mine (I think they're 10.5 and 12)

  • Con eso no picas en ningun combo.... Malazo!!!

  • chevere

  • is dat all u can do

  • Is there a way for you to break down the pattern? L:muff R:slap, L:bass, R: slap & R:open. is that how it goes? or I'm I wrong?

  • Not quite, there is no muff just Closed Slaps, Base and Open tones. O=open on the big drum. On the 7th note which is a bass keep you left hand there for the closed slap including the next cs (ie 1st note) after the open. Slow motion 1st nice n easy, master it then start playing around and have fun with it.

    cs:b:cs:O:o:o:b:cs:O r:l:r :r:l:r:l:r :r

  • Thank you so much! That was very helpful, keep them coming. Now I would really be able to practice the pattern. THanks again.

  • Thanks a lot.

    Very informative.

  • que tumbadoras tan bonitas man!!! where did u get it!! thanks for sharing!!

  • These are vintage skin-on-skin. Probablemente del año 90
