  • If Christ died for every man's sins and took the wrath of God for every man's sins, then there would be no more wrath left for God to pour out on the wicked, but God has plenty of wrath left to pour out on the wicked,so logically,Jesus never died for all men or their sins.

  • @msd1835 You're welcome to your views & opinions concerning this10 minute clip of a 4 hour debate. You're right though, Larry Wessels has no respect for the Arminian view (see his video on Youtube, "UNPOPULAR BIBLE DOCTRINES #1: THE BIBLICAL GOD NO ONE WANTS TO KNOW"). At the time of this response we are currently uploading onto Youtube the full length versions of this debate. This debate was done in 4 one hour segments. Right now we have parts 3 & 4 up (see our Youtube CANSWERSTV channel page).

  • Jesus died to defeat sin, sure its for us, Sin ruled over man since Adam, with the death of Jesus sin need no longer rule over us, any of us however, you(we) are not saved automatically because Jesus died to defeat sin, you (we)sin voluntarily on a daily basis slapping Jesus in the face every time and will pay in the end. Jesus nullified a previous contract that Satan had with God concerning the souls of man, when Satan accepted delivery of an innocent man the contract was terminated.

  • @fudgedogbannana Our Savior Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God (the God-man, John 1;1,14), was graciously sent to suffer & die on the cross for our sins & to purify us from all unrighteousness (Isaiah 53, Matthew, Mark, Luke , & John) by the sacrifice of His body & blood. Those that are predestined by God unto salvation (Ephesians 1:1-11, Romans 9:10-23) will reign with Christ while Satan & the reprobate (Romans 1:18 ff, Revelation 12, etc) will perish in hell (Matt 25:41, 2 Peter 2:4).

  • So to the first guy, if we tell a group of people that Christ died for their sins, we lie because not all of them are going to be saved but they may take what you said and say to themselves, Christ died for my sins? ok so im good to go, and now i can go on and live my life however i want and be justified on the day of judgement

  • @TheChazomac Very good logical conclusion! Arminians preach a heretical gospel that tells sinners that "God loves them & has a wonderful plan for their life" which is not true Biblically speaking. A sinner who has not been supernaturally "born again" (John 3:3-8) by the power of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5-7) will easily fall into the scenario you described & thus deceive himself about his own salvation before a Holy God. The Bible DOES NOT say God loves everybody (Romans 9:13, 22; Psalm 11:5).

  • @CAnswersTV amen

  • If God only selects who he wants to receive the spirit, then why should we bother? I'll just wait on his timeing. His ways aren't ours, right? OH WAIT! We have to Go to Jesus on our own will. We're so focus on the theology that we forget the mission.

  • @anthonybaiz We bother because Jesus commanded His followers to "Go ye therefore, & teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, & of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you ..." (Matt. 28:19-20). See show #1 of our "Unpopular Bible Doctrines" series on YAHOO VIDEO (type LARRY WESSELS in their homepage search box & look for it) which shows you Biblically that the Father picks who He wants (John 6), you don't pick Jesus, get it?

  • You mis understood my answer I believe in election but not a birth filled with the Holy Spirit your answer seems to have no relevance to what I said

  • @polopowers1 What you don't seem to understand is that whether saints of God are in the Old Testament or the New Testament they were all "born again" by God's Spirit. The O.T. doesn't give us as much light on this as the N. T. does but nevertheless O.T. saints were alive through the power of the Holy Spirit (reading the Psalms would convince anyone). There is a distinction between being "indwelt" by the Spirit & being "filled" by the Spirit.

  • @polopowers1 Okay so before Pentecost old testament saints were always filed or indwelt? You still miss my emphasis no man can be born born again.John the ,David, all had the Spirit temporary not always with them is my understanding. Why the tone fail to understand I like most of the things you say? John and all the prophets never had the Spirit always. But John cannot be born with the Spirit filled because thius would mean he is born with a dead sinful nature not possible

  • @polopowers1 I mentioned your statement to a good group of brothers in Christ after church (including 2 elders) & everyone was surprised that you did not know that saved saints in the Old Testament were indwelt by the spirit just as they are in the New Testament. What you don't seem to understand is that God chooses His own to be SAVED by sending His Spirit ONLY to His elect & not others. Read Rom 4, Heb 11, Ezek 36:27, Isaiah 6, Joel 2:28-29, Psalms, etc.

  • @CAnswersTV I thank you for responding Your saying Old Testament saints which I believe they were, were constantly filled with the Spirit before Pentecost? This is impossible theology. They did at times get filled but they never had a permanent filling.I do understand election for the saints in the old testament but David was never always filled neither was Daniel Jonah etc.The sealing of the Spirit did not come until Christ rose and justified. All old testament had a abiding that did not remain

  • @polopowers1 I found that you commented on my last reply within only a few short minutes (I think within 5-7 minutes) meaning there is no way you had time to check all the scripture references I gave you. This tells me that that you aren't interested in searching the scriptures for answers but rather you have a "Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up" attitude. You're equivocating on "indwelt" (continual presence) & "filled" (temporary power).

  • John was not filled with the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb continually and since. The correct translation is "even from his mothers womb".Only Jesus Christ could be born with the new Nature. Was not John born under law?John was the friend of the bridegroom not the bride. He was the first that will be last. Only Christ can be born filled with the Spirit made by Spirit. John was filled "even from his mothers womb" a duration yet to be. Making difference between Him and Jesus being born of Spirit.

  • @polopowers1 You have made a classic mistake in logic here. In logic it is called a FALSE ANALOGY meaning you are trying to draw a parallel when there is no true parallel. It goes something like, "If you are brave enough to take a shower you are brave enough to swim the ocean." Because God picks & chooses ahead of time (Ephesians 1) who is saved or lost (Romans 9) John was already CHOSEN by the Spirit.
