my mum lost over 2 stones from weight watchers but im 2 young 4 that LOL. she looks good now. it was the point system on the diet plan and regular excerise 3 times a week
Looking good. I'm sure you've heard this before, but you should follow the program to the "T". P90X comes with a proven diet that works. Well, congrats on the results, and keep on bring it!
Keep on keeping on and congrats on your results. Get a calorie counter like Mynetdiary from Apple Store - its awesome and will really help you keep track of your calories - For Women especially you can't just do P90X you have to follow a diet as well - don't eat out if you don't have to. Stay positive and focus on what you want, you can do it!
The BEST diet you can be on is Paleo. Eat lots of vegetables and meat with some fruit. Snack on nuts & vegetables throughout the day, then have one big meal. Stay around 50g to 100g total carbs.
Better skin (cellular turnover)
100% fat burning
More solid muscle creation (no bulk)
Bottom line: Humans have been eating paleo for millions of years, our bodies thrive on it. First two weeks will be tough, but then you will feel incredible.
I bought the P90X videos, along with the P90X plus, resistance bands, chin up bar, push up stands and I have a few free weights. I have not started the workouts yet, as I just had a beautiful baby boy 3 weeks ago and waiting for my 6 week postpartum period to be over so that I may avoid any injury. My question is, do you suggest taking the Vitamin & recovery formula supplements? My husband and I currently use whey protein not sure if that is sufficient? Please advise, it would really help.
I think its an incredible part of the program (the vitamins and recovery drinks) but they arent necessary. My results so far came from dieting and will with regular ol' whey protien. But by all means if you can and want the vit's then get them, it will only add to your results. beware though the recovery drink adds about 300 calories, so use it on those tough days and make sure to bring it every step of the way. Good luck.
PS: you should try the "eat clean diet" book. It talks about nutrition;its a way to eat for life. its about 20$ i like it; it helped me understands good fat; carbs, protein and all!
Hope to ear from you; dont give up! See you soon; Liz
Hey MEL! im about to receive P90X by mail; cant wait. Im scared as HELL! LOL Ive lost 60 pounds by starting at curves and Gym 2 yrs ago. ive gained 15lbs this past year ; and like you, im trying to lose it. U've done such a great job so far; i know its hard; especially with kids and boyfriend eating everything tasty right? f How's it been so far? i know its been a month now since this video! find me on Facebook; Lisanne Plante in Canada, we should start a girl'sP90X Group!
do weight watchers, i did it and lost 3 lbs in the first week, they focus more about portions then what you eat, thast where the points system comes into play. its very very affective, i lost 15lbs on it in 3 months but i also ran and lifted weights. and i want to do p90x but while i do that im still going to run and lift as well. but back to weight watchers, you can eat whatever you want as much as you want as long as you dont go over the points they give you for that day. good luck.
hey! Thanks for your lovely videos! Me and my girlfriend are going to start and hearing from you really helps! We both think you're looking great - it's really working! Keep it up!
As far as nutrition goes, we've recently turned vegan (after being veggies for a few years), and we've found that to be really good, so maybe try and cut back on meat and dairy and add more veggies, fruit, pulses and soya. That worked for us. You're educating yourself though - so you will succeed! GREAT STUFF! :D
That's sooooooooooo much for the sweet comment. love it. thanks for letting me inspire you girls people like you are the reason i can keep going because i know i'm not just counting on myself but others are counting on me. Thanks to eveyone. you are all a great help.
Melissa - great progress so far. Keep on pressing play. After you learn the workout moves and get into the workout grove I started to plateau and it was because of the nutrition side of things. The nutrition is so very important. Try not to complicate things with your diet, keep it simple. Know how many calories you need and break up between fats, carbs, protein. What helped me was I cut out one bad food at a time - I don't drink anymore, no sodas, no chips. I eat simple foods...good luck
Check out Sean's vids also. His handle is Underground Wellness. I had a free consultation with him and he is just awesome! You'll love his videos. Good luck and I'm starting soon!
For dinner I get boneless skinless chicken and grill it with garlic and a little bit BBQ sauce, I also cut up 1 cup of mixed bell peppers and onion and grill them a little bit (not too much), and put that on top of 4 cups of spinach with some low fat shredded cheese on top
For snacks I eat a protein bar and recovery drink after my work out and for the afternoon snack I usually eat a cheese stick or some almonds or soy nuts.
I've found that the best approach to the nutrition plan for me was going with the portion approach. I just take the book to the store with me and but things off the list in the book. I'm on phase 1 still but:
I eat 6 egg white, 1 slice of ham, 1 whole wheat english muffin, 1 banana, and 16 oz of milk for breakfast.
For lunch I make the tuna salad recipe in the book. It's super easy and fast and I put that on top of 4 cups of spinach
Hey girl !!! thanks for bearing your ... soul.. to show us your progress! You're encouraging me! I will take day 14 pics today . Probably won't see much but I can feel it ! Hope you get the nutrition where you want it , I'm sure if you have kids at home that's hard.... hang in there!!
I goal is help people who need some focus and just can't do it on their own they need to see it possible you know see to believe? Can't wait to see your progress.
You go girl it's really nice to see you using my advice about doubling up so you can catch up. you'll pull through we all fall sometimes but you just get back up, keep bringing it girl you can do it.
Hey sweetie, you are very inspirational, I think you are doing a great job, and you can really tell the difference, you are really much more toned and have lost a lot of inches. Great job
You're coming along well Melissa, real proud of you! When you double up, what are you doubling up with? Try this for a week or 2 and let me know how it goes: On the days when you do weight training videos, do a cardio video right after it. When I did this, I saw the fat come right off (mind you I learned this late during P90X). As for eating, try eating your starchy carbs (rice, potatoes, bread) with lean protein before 2pm and just lean protein and veggies after that. Let me know how it goes!
Everything you need should be with your p90x your nutrition booklet and your exercise booklet .stay focus and keep up the good work
