I hope God gives back the Mandate of Heaven to the Chinese..we need some wise leaders. Leaders like this that can move Heeaven around and rustle up a few leaves down here..I cried watching this..
I think I understand what the Mandate of Heaven means, but I'm confused by the reference to God, as in a (western?) monotheistic deity. An interesting combination. I too wish China the best, though I think we are better off striving for the mandate of the people.
I studied Tai-chi Sword briefly. One thing that you have to appreciate is that not only is the moves learned extremely slowly to build muscle memory, but each move is in perfect synch to your body's muscle movement and circulation. Another words, this is the most efficient way to attack and defend with a sword without using too much energy.
I have a question though, what do the different color tassels stand for? Most swords i see have a red one some yellow...yours white? My buddy left so I can't ask him....
My friend who is a master of Distreza (I can't even spell it right... European fencing but with the deadly moves learned) Anyway, he said that the movements are learned slow and perfectly, in a real match these movements can be recalled by the brain at lightning speed. He also remarks that this man is quite good, and he gives much respect to this form of martial art.
Watching this I was suddenly struck with a realization: to 'most people' this may seem silly. But really, there's nothing silly about it. I mean, this is the way they used to kill people, right?
I have the full VCD of both Tai Chi & Tai Chi Sword. They include step by step instruction by Master Xue. However, it has Cantonese on the left and Mandarin on the Right. If someone can tell me how to separate them, I'd be happy to load it for you.
Which do you want to use? (I don't mind either one will do) I think if you just use one plug of the audio, it should work...unless you are burning directly from computer. I would really like to see the whole video - at least the form.
Unfortunately, the two audios are not on different tracts, one on left speaker, one on right speaker. So you can adjust your balance to select audio. However, if I put it in a format acceptable to Youtube, you only get both audios at the same time, with no way to adjust.
Historically, supremo master Tai Chi San Feng (Wudang) was legendery, his sword skill & hand combat was fast and effortless, equal if not better than Shaolin's best, his sword skill was supreme, no one ever wins fighting him, heaps of movies & TV shows glorified such a martial arts legend. He has fast & slow versions. Even when you watch Tai Chi stick(staff) style, nothing short of Shaolin. From Australia

He's got this nice, peaceful music, which sounds so unintimidating, but he's actually practicing different ways to kill people.

Ever seen a true Master? As compare to who or what? Unless you have seen the real thing, you will never know which is true and which is false !

I see that man has true skill in the art of swordplay, but I wonder what power he may hold in combatant techniques.
