Awesome video. Best comparison video yet. It goes to show that hollywood fucked up badly by depicting silencers as magic devices that make muzzle reports disappear.
@ngu0061 Probably shooting standard ammunition. The noise you hear when you shoot comes from a number of factors. Muzzle blast, action noise (cycling of the action), sonic boom (for supersonic ammo), and the noise of the bullet striking the target.
A suppressor can eliminate the muzzle blast, but as long as the bullet is traveling more than the speed of sound, it makes a crack like a .22LR. Hope this helps!
@bryjb10 Redneck = Live in quite place, family loves eachother ,yeah act a little crazy, but come home sit out on the porch relax, spend quality time with children ,take them hunting & fishin, keep them off drugs ...Yankee = drive bys, drugs up the ass ,traffic like a freaking zoo, work 70 hours a week ,see children a couple minutes a week ,when they arent high,???? wow really bad to be a redneck.
@rambo440hpmopar, if you say so.. .thats your perception. I could say the same thing.. Redneck.. big 4x4's, 5 cars in your front lawn (that you can see), couches on your porch, smoking that weed you grow in your 10 acres, looks like you live in a junk yard, spend half of your life at the bar in town and work on your harley in your living room.
@bryjb10 Not not just my perception ,My knowledge I have lived both places .And if you think a place like chicago " jailed up rat hole" or new york " Traffic jam from hell " is anything compared to life in rual ,let`s say tenn .Then your not just ignorant but STUPID
@will1469 Go to your local Class 3 Gun dealer. Not all firearm dealers are Class3 dealers. Call local shops around you and inquire if they are Class 3 and deal with NFA items.
find a class 3 dealer, fill out an application, you'll need a passport photo and a signature from your local law enforcement . you'll also need $200 per application. One application per silencer, fully automatic weapon... you'll need the serial # off of your fully automatic weapon or your silencer so it has to be purchased before the application is submited.
Negative. I've been warned about running subsonics through a silencer, due to their inferior ballistics and the chance they could strike the baffles. If you have other info, I am interested...
While subsonics will *definitely* reduce noice levels there is a ballistics problem. To be more clear, there is a siginficant risk that the bullet will not fly perfectly straight as it leaves the barrel; this could cause it to strike the internal baffles of the suppressor, which will ruin it.
Given the cost, and the pain in the @ss you have to go through to acquire it, I'm not willing to risk it. The 223 round through my Gemtech Halo sounds exactly like a 22 rifle, fyi.
I've seen it happen a few times too. But I also heard if you spend money on good quality ,expensive, trusted, brand name ammo, you could prevent it. I'm not sure if it's true although I know guys who shoot Wal*Mart ammo out of their suppressors and ruin them and other guys who spend tons on research on the best subsonics that never had a problem in their suppressors besides dust.
I wouldn't risk it if I used a suppressor and plus, most subsonics won't cycle the weapon, which gets annoying...
True. It's one thing to go subsonic with a 9mm can cause you are only bringing the velocity down a couple hundred fps. With .223, you are going from 3200fps to less than 1100fps. That is a huge difference, and you don't know how the bullet will perform or act as it leaves the barrel.
Yessir. Have a friend who welds, and we designed and built it to fit in the back of any pickup. Straps down to the bed, wired with perimiter lights, outlets for spotlights, swivel seats (tractor seats, actually) and that's a bench seat facing back. Great for hog hunting.
Pewwww, tink, pewwww, tink.... Hey man what's that tink noise... Oh that's just my brass scratching the shti out of your hood... Pewwwww, TINK!

how do you get a silencer license?
JordansBeans 2 years ago
Easiest way is to find a dealer for the silencer; they usually have all the paperwork and will walk the buyer through the process.

I've heard that subsonic rounds through a silencer make the whole silencing process more effective.
Is this true? I would assume it was... Just wanted your opinion.
