  • love this video shows how much love they have for mom and her support.

  • This is adorable.

  • One of my favorites

  • i love this song and i love the oak ridge boys.

  • I just won VIP tickets to see this group live. Too bad I'm only 18 and don't really know any of their material. And too bad I'll be living in another state. Weak.

  • I would like to find a good copy in karaoke format, let me know if anyone has one, thnx

  • This song is great! Please dont take your moms for granted because you never know when you might lose them. I just lost my mom 3 months ago.

  • Love you steve (R.Love 2 see your moms .I can sing word for word

  • U can't find it on amazon. I already tried

  • i have looked for this on cd and cant find it anywhere

  • @lathamra98 It's "out of print" which means it's no longer produced by the record company. You can find it on ebay or amazon possibly.

  • joe bonsall was from my neighborhood in philly so awesome

  • I think Richard's line should've been "no matter how low I get".

  • Daddy25327 I agree with you he is great

    but they are all great

  • who ever that dislikes this song, doesn't know a good song or music.

  • dumb video...the lyrics don't indicate they are talking about their mothers..."met you that night"...

  • @orchote true that man i always thought this song was about there women not their moms lol

  • This Song Is Jesus!!!!

  • I've always loved this song, since I was a little girl and my mom would listen to it! They are definitely amazing!

  • This song sure puts me in a good mood. Love the Oaks!

  • its a waste the lead singer killed himself

  • I love this song....back in 1987 my mom and I went to see the Oak Ridge Boys just after Steve Sanders joined the group as a front singer....that was my first concert and I was glad that I got to share it with my mom cause 5 years later she past away.....its sad that Steve Sanders passed away also, he was great

  • This song is most appropriate song for moms day!!

Mom and I watched this video when it was on CMT back in 88!! She sure enjoyed it then, as much as she did today when I played it for her!!

    What a great song!

  • I sing this song to my wife and mother all the time, and I'm a Teacher For The Deaf, and I've have taught my class this song as well....And, I requested it to be played at my funeral. It is one of the 3 most important songs to my heart and soul forever. Thank you Oak Ridge Boys....

  • omg i just love this song... it makes me think of my mom i love u guys!!! ur great!!

  • this is my song to my mom who pass away back in feb 5 1998 miss you mom:(

  • It's to bad Steve Sanders is gone! He was a great singer!

  • The dude in the black tank top looks like a 70s porn star!

  • @bigcheese1973 mean but funny too! this was in the 70's or early 80's--we thought we looked hot -- but we really looked like a bunch of idiots

  • I love the oakridge boys, they are my all time favorite!

  • I have to admit I do find referring to your mother as 'baby' somewhat disturbing, but it's otherwise an ode to your better half if you hear it on the radio or on CD.

  • I haven't heard this in 2o years,at least. It's funny how I never caught on that the song was about mothers the first few times I heard it.In fact, even after seeing the video the first few times too.

  • My good buddy Joey wrote this song :)

  • good song

  • I've been looking everywhere for this song. Thanks.

  • Very touching to see this video with all the guys, but especially with Joe and his mother, Lilly. If you haven't read Joe's book "G I Joe & Lilly", or even heard the song Joe wrote with the same title, do yourself a favor and get a copy of his book. Both are a wonderful tribute to Joe's mom and dad, and it really brings more meaning to this song for me. The video to the song is on YT and I won't spoil it for you... but I'll say this, go ahead and get your hanky ready for this one.

  • Awesome song by avery awesome group!!!!

  • the Oaks hit #1 in Billboard, 3-3-90. God bless y'all, Oaks! Why on earth would Steve Sanders commit suicide? Somebody let me know. RIP, Steve!

  • @DaveWollenberg Probably cause he was having marital problems, and with Willie rejoining the band in 1996, that probably didn't help his self esteem any as well.

  • great song by the oak ridge boys its just amazing

  • this song is awesome

  • To me this is the perfect "MOTHER'S DAY" song going out to all the mother's of the world. That's what I think.

  • @HEBisreal Actually it's more about being kept in touch with the real world and the common person regardless of how famous they get. For fame can change the way a person percieves the world around them.

  • In the beginning clips, are those their home towns?

  • @barbidoll0 It's their home towns.

  • @Thedolphdebbie ok thanks :)

  • I wish, GAC would bring back their Classic segments, so I can relive great favorites such as this one.

  • this song sounds like a ode to Smoking Weed

  • Im debating whether I like Steve Saunders voice better than William Golden's...

  • I Absolutely love this song!!!

  • Richard Sterban must be from AC. He's standing in front of the Tropicana on the boardwalk.

  • great video it really hits home this song is awesome and the oakridge boys are great

  • Okay - it started out as a love song....then they decided to do as a tribute to mom!!

    ...simple.

  • Someone said this is the best song with Steve Sanders in the group.... it IS GREAT..

but don't forget "Gonna Take a Lot of River" or maybe it was..Mongahelea..or some

    thing such as that ?

  • MMMMM i think the one with bass voice had a Weed problem

  • at the beginning I thought I was listening to restless heart

  • Duane SO looks like an old porn star in this vid.

  • lame load speed set aside.....my mom is still alive and well but given my job i never know what each day is gonna bring so even being 25 y/o i'm alway's sure to tell my mom i love her cause well i never take life for granted

  • A man is never to old to do something special for his mom.

  • @forthmancrew Is it weird that i am almost 38 and sometimes call my mother mommy? Some people say it is, while others say i can call her what i want because she gave birth to me

  • @forthmancrew Got that right. I am 38 and still cherish my mother who is 69 and do what i can for her. I love her so much!

  • lame ass load speed

  • I love this song, a heart felt tribute to to their mothers; I would be lost without my mommy;I can say that with no shame,my mother made me,and I am eternally grateful! Class tune, great group.

  • Love the video. If I become half the person my Mother is I'd still be a hell of a guy!!

  • YES SIR!!!!!!!!!!

  • if its to his mom then why does he say "baby" i'll look up to you?

  • @MrBlastwake They might have a tight relationship and they call their mothers and/or grandmothers that

  • What I like about this video was it was to their mothers. Can you say a song/video about mom.

  • this is the first time hearing this song for me..which one is the one with the deep voice? btw its awesome!

  • Richard Sterban is the one with the deep voice. The guy in the red jacket.

  • thanks!

  • Back in 1988 to 1990, I was a country music DJ at a small AM radio station. I used to play this song all the time. I don't guess I'd ever heard it in stereo until today!!! Excellent sound quality on the HQ mode. Thank you for taking the time to post!!!

  • Who is that at 2:20 Joe and his dad maybe?

  • This song is what I remeber when I was a little boy watchin' this and told my mother that I love her.

  • Great Song! Steve Sanders will never be forgotten!

  • i think its their moms

  • how can that be? the first line he sings is "Baby I got lucky when I met you that night" You don't say something like that to your moms.

  • some ppl never got the priviledge of meeting their mothers maybe they are thankful to their mom. nyway it was just a suggestion

  • bcatwell... you are being purposely difficult. It's a song, and yes, while the lyrics might not have been written from the writer to his mother they are using it to pay homage to their mothers in this video.

  • Great to see this Video! It's sad that we lost Steve but it's great we still have his music to rember him. I als like the way they use there moms in this video. Thanks!
