I disagree with your statement at 0:41. If there is no programming, there is no game. Art helps the lasting appeal but it's really about the gameplay and how well coded the game is. In flash, there is actionscript, so even they are coding. Take pong or asteroids for example. They weren't the most visually pleasing games, but the gameplay was excellent and people saw that. If you mean that good programmers make bad games because they can't draw as well as a talented artist, then you're wrong.
@CheesyBerger I think what he means is some programmer usually dont focus on the art or the design of things. Pong and asteroids got away with such things due to the technology of that time. To my I think the focus should be on all aspects of the game. Game play, art, music, design. All these things together make perfect games. Programming being an important part as well because it brings all these together, but each are just as important.
