To tell you the truth I've been wondering the same thing for about 4 years now. I've played both of the highest end models of both Jackson and ESP, and I honestly think there's very little difference in them. I prefer the feel of a Jackson over ESP but that's just me. I do think that when Fender bought out Jackson it hurt the company.

There are too many Alexi Laiho wannabes out there buying Alexi guitars, and I'm not saying the guitars suck, cause at least the 2 I've played don't, but ESP is just a copy... I have the Jackson RR24, and it kicks ass... It plays better then the ESP alexi laiho Scythe, and its like 3 times as cheap. ESP's are, in MY opinion, overprices pieces of wood.

@OnyxBeastGuitar Alexis 2 original jacksons were stolen, then when he went to get more customs, they said it would take approx 1 year. Then ESP came to him and made them a little more closer to what "HE" wanted, and did it in 3 months! I would have jumped ship too!!

@thomizzskate well the alexi 200 is the cheapest laiho signature and that can be about £400 / $500 ish :S its not really worth the price. a good bet is an ibanez RG. theyre versatile as fuck and alexi used an ibanez recording something wild. or you could try 2get a second hand jackson rhoads

which rhoads were you thinking about? What I´ve heard about Jackson and Ltd in general, you get more for the money if you buy a jackson. I have a Jackson Rx10d with original floyd rose instead of that crappy jackson-floyd and a blackout metal pickup and it´s by far better than a ltd mmv-09 that i tried in a musicstore. The Ltd feels cheaper and more "plastic"!

I filled in all Aleksi's specs on an Aleksi V model and it gave me an estimated quote of 7500 USD.
