not every gti has the grill stripe, the huff wheels are dope and every lo pro tire dings the rim if you hit a curb, the red calipers are dope, and finally you can only invent one "esce" word per test. i own i mk5 gti and it is to hatchbacks what the m3 is to sedans: the best for the price bar none. this review was not through or accurate.

Just took this car out for a test drive... the most FUN car I have ever been in. It's so easy to go fast in the corners, the interior is unforgettable, I wish I had more characters to explain how much I loved it. Looking to buy one soon.
If you go light on options, you can get a GTI for much less than 30k in the US. I own a base model 2010 GTI with the 6-speed manual. Taxes and fees included, I paid exactly 24k for it.

Thats not a seat belt loop. its a handle that lets u fold the seat so u can get in the back. The first day i got my GTI reaching back for the seat belt was sorta annoying but after 2 days, u get used to it.
@KiranStevens i've been in a golf before and from when i tested it those loop looking things are actually to move the seat forward and and back. and when i was at the dealer it was the same. also it wouldn't make much sense to make the belt go through that loop cuz then getting in and out with a belt at your ankles and neck would be pretty awkward.
@KiranStevens You're wrong... do you have this car?? that thing does not catch the seat belt, it's for putting the seat forward to access the rear seats. The fact that you have to reach back for the seat belt is actually fairly annoying.

Gotta say this is a pretty bad review. Oh you can make good right hand turns at 15mph? Wowee! Is this really something that is surprising in a car? You cannot reach the seatbelt? Stop the press! This is common for coupes without electronic seatbelt aids that push them up for you to grab. Why is this even mentioned? Nothing about performance, nothing about anything an actual car enthusiast would care about.
Use your left hand/arm to get the seatbelt not the right. Problem solved. The rear of the car is ALL new. Wider hatch opening, seperated dual exhaust, NEW taillights, Larger roof spoiler, smaller window, rear washer sprays across glass not just down like MKV did. Decent review just a little more homework next time.

the "clip" is the seat back release on the 2-doors, the 4-doors do not have the "clip" it is only to release the seatback to allow access to the rear seats of the 2-goor gti's. just get the seatbelt with your left hand/arm...problem solved. they have been the same design since the MKV in 06.

well the car is over priced especially when compared to othe rsport compacts. But it does't mean you have to pay that price. And you can always negiotate. If they don't budge, walk away to the next dealer...
Also Volkswagen claimed this is the quietest GTI yet....well they didn't lie.I closed the door and couldnt hear or feel the engine running. Very low road noise. I came to a stop at an intersection during my test drive and I thought the engine had died.....i had to glance at the Tach 2 0r 3 times to make sure!!!! Gonna get one in August on my birthday!!!
Also most are posting saying the cars is 30 grand...yes with full options. But do your homework, learn to negotiate prices, KNOW THE DEALER INVOICE before negotiating, never talk about financing first, only the pricing. You can get this car with a few of the good options for about $25,000 bux. Then add your own upgrades later. Or get a bare GTi and get you own upgrades later....But do go test drive one at least. Doesn't cost a thing and there is no obligation to buy...even though they'll try you
Went to Reeves Import Motorcars here in Tampa and test drove a brand spankin new 2010 GTi. I love this car. Artfully refined!!! Superb steering feel, great steering wheel and response. Engine felt very strong! Sporty and light on it's feet! Great car guys n gals! if you have not bought one already, go for a test drive!! you'll love it!!!
I agree this is a nice car, but when all said in done, taxes in fright, dealer feels this little Rocket cost over 32 Grand. 32 thousand for a GTI...... makes you ask the question is it really worth it.

and if i remember correctly that "clip on the seat" your talking about, that was to slide the driver seat forward for someone to get in the back. just fyi.
if it doubles as a clip someone let me know please. GTI FTW

the "clip" is the seat back release on the 2-doors, the 4-doors do not have the "clip" it is only to release the seatback to allow access to the rear seats of the 2-goor gti's. just get the seatbelt with your left hand/arm...problem solved. they have been the same design since the MKV in 06.

@evo14ramirez .............Oh and forget some of the negatives in the review....Every car out there has these...no getting away from that. There is no such thing as a perfect car....from some aspects anyways. Note: There were very few negatives about the 2010 GTI......

@evo14ramirez Yes I do. But some questions you should ask yourself to know if this will be a good car for you are: Will it fit my lifestyle and driving styles? Does it have enough room? Will it be usefull? One way to find out if the car is right for you is to go to your local dealer and look at one, ask some specific qiestions, and take a test drive. You'll usually come to a conclusion after that.

@mrgods well cars(especially european ones) typically are more expensive, but they do usually put more effort into building them, to make them even good cars by the next decade's standards. here in america a long time for us is 5 years, and by that time we're bored of our car and are looking for a new one already, hence why we expect lower prices.

well the car is over priced especially when compared to othe rsport compacts. But it does't mean you have to pay that price. And you can always negiotate. If they don't budge, walk away to the next dealer...

Also Volkswagen claimed this is the quietest GTI yet....well they didn't lie.I closed the door and couldnt hear or feel the engine running. Very low road noise. I came to a stop at an intersection during my test drive and I thought the engine had died.....i had to glance at the Tach 2 0r 3 times to make sure!!!! Gonna get one in August on my birthday!!!

Also most are posting saying the cars is 30 grand...yes with full options. But do your homework, learn to negotiate prices, KNOW THE DEALER INVOICE before negotiating, never talk about financing first, only the pricing. You can get this car with a few of the good options for about $25,000 bux. Then add your own upgrades later. Or get a bare GTi and get you own upgrades later....But do go test drive one at least. Doesn't cost a thing and there is no obligation to buy...even though they'll try you

Went to Reeves Import Motorcars here in Tampa and test drove a brand spankin new 2010 GTi. I love this car. Artfully refined!!! Superb steering feel, great steering wheel and response. Engine felt very strong! Sporty and light on it's feet! Great car guys n gals! if you have not bought one already, go for a test drive!! you'll love it!!!

I agree this is a nice car, but when all said in done, taxes in fright, dealer feels this little Rocket cost over 32 Grand. 32 thousand for a GTI...... makes you ask the question is it really worth it.

@BetterDayz19 Its insane i know. My province is taxed to hell as it is. Go to vw .ca and do a "build it" option, There is my proof right there. I saw a loaded GTI on the lot for 38 Grand before. It sucks so much that its how many thousands cheaper in America....

@applecri5p I agree. Totally. But why is it that they can sell a full sized jetta made in mexico for 15 grand but since its imported from Germany its 28 stripped. I dont get this. 32 grand can get you a way better car here. Although a GTI is a very nice car.
