You know what? Way too many people here saying it doesn't work and bricking their tabs. I think I'll stick with OTA updates.

I'm very hesitant to do this. Why? Because I had rooted my Motorola Devour last year... I didn't upgrade to a newer ROM. I simply rooted it. Now my phones battery life last bout 30 minutes at the most. Worried bout doing this on my Galaxy. Nice directions though

Yow zedomax I am trying it but you don't tell properly where to paste the file after you copied it. In your description on your site you say "Copy over the file “Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.­zip” from the tabrooteasy folder to the root folder of your Tab 10.1."

I don't see any root folder on my tab 10.1. Where is this folder?

I can't go further then this because it can't find the file. I copied it on the mainfolder of the tablet.

@rmsyster root is isnt an actual folder. in fact when you copy to the root of the sd card it means its not in any folder. so say in explorer you went to your sd card its just a file sitting right there. it has to be copied on you sd card not the main folder of the tablet. this way when you go to install zip from sd, its on your sd.

I'm trying to root the tablet and install a new rom on it as its gone into the infamous 'boot loop' error.

I cant put anything in the internal storage (like the ROM) as i cannot access the internal storage via USB. Do you know if putting the ROM on a SD card in the SD card adaptor work? I assume if it does flashing a new ROM from the SD card should work?

@Manny32V Try using the button near the power button, you are doing the opposite, Power and Volume Up which gets you into blacked out APX mode instead. Volume Down is the one nearer to the Power key, i know that confused me too on day one.

Hi so i downloaded all of the files and followed all of the directions you mentioned in the video. I got to the part in which I flashed Clockwork Mod thru download mode with Odin. Now when i try to get back into Recovery mode by holding volume down and power, the download and recovery icons show up for a split second! So fast that I cannot even take off my fingers fast enough to catch them. It does not seem normal. I was on touchwiz when i flashed, could that have been the issue? Thanks

1. If I mess up at any point in the process, can it be undone?

2. will I do any permanent damage if this doesnt work or I do it wrong? for example, when I jailbreak my iphone after a new FW update, there's almost no chance of anything going wrong AND my info is backed up so I can always go back to a previous FW.

3. is there any risk of bricking my 10.1
