i first saw sugiura when he fought morishima in december 2010, and that match blew me away with how awesome it was, and ever since then i have been a fan of sugiura, really one of the few guys that when i first saw a match of theirs i instantly became a fan
I don't think they should bring in any Japanese talent unless they can bring them in for like 3 to 6 months to book them in feuds not just "Dream Matches" ROH is not a indy promotion now so they have to modify there mentality somewhat.
@PADSCHARGERS2009 If you are talking match quality wise, Bryan Danielson's reign from ROH in 05 and 06 is definitely up there. You also have to throw in alot of the AJPW Triple Crown reigns during the 90's.
If you mean by just importance, the extremely long WWF reigns probably have it.
@ManchesterIH I meant match quality wise. Nigel's reign was awesome, but I felt that Danielson just had great matches with everyone, which Nigel didnt
Thanks for the response. I thought Sugiura vs Shiozaki was still great, maybe the weakest for me out of the three but still ****1/4. I'm really excited to see them back to mix it up with ROH talent. I completely agree that they should be brought in sporadically, it got overkill in late 2007. I think Nakajima is deserving of being the focal point. I think a multi tag match would be a great way to introduce guys like Aoki & Ishmori. Davey vs KENTA for the title has to happen.
Kobashi's reign of awsome might just be the best reign of all time match quality wise

Hopefully we get Shiozaki defending against Akiyama and Takayama.

How can you not mention Nigel's ROH Title reign? I feel he had just as good (if not better) of a reign as Bryan's.

@DoubleCrossKing That is another great one.....

The wear of being Champion for so long was probably why match quality went down towards the end of Sugiuras reign ,

@seancarletonzero ROH could use Nakajima, pretty sure he's the next GHC Jr. Champ, he deserves it!

@seancarletonzero Elgin vs. Nakajima would sell me on an iPPV, no joke.

Well, NJPW was exposed to Suguira a year earlier at WK3, when he teamed against Nakamura/Goto with a little known green boy by the name of Misawa.
I don't have much issue with the "NOAH guys aren't getting their shot enough" things.
Suguira's matches did eventually build to a brawl of some sort, but I thought that worked.
Love the Takayama love. He knows what to do with his size and ability.
You put Akiyama/Kobashi as the best for NOAH? Interesting...
