We do. It may be a brisk walk, but its a walk. Safety first, if you don't make it to the truck because you fell runnin thru the bay, you ain't doin anyone any good at the scene. Its happened, to us, so no we don't run.

There is a master switch off camera that he turns before getting in the drivers seat, the knob on the dash is the ignition switch. Turn it on, push the start button, and hang on!!

Why do fire engines have a master switch to turn on the battery? To me that just seems like one more thing you have to remember to turn on and off.

To stop any drain at all on the battery from deivces on the truck. This ensures that the batteries are always fully charged and ready to crank the truck.
