@mmolay Well of course it is easy to FIND the El Train in the game, it is easy to install it too, but the hard part is getting your people to fuckin use it. I spent 100,000 simoleons on a good el-train system and nobody ever used it. It sat there for years with Zero usage. I just ate my losses and dozed it for more bus stops and roads. I think that's why rudeboyy said it is impossible.

@LITE992 El rail is quite a lot cheaper, but then again, it drags like regular rail so you can't do 90 degree turns. and it can't be built on top of roads (without mods), which sort of defeats the purpose of el rail. it's pretty much a waste of time unless you have mods or a wide open space and don't want to spend money on subways.

What an American approach. Gigantic freeways through the centre of the city, barely any public transit. Yes, a very good city layout indeed. It's not like you are going to lose lots of money to maintain those monsters or anything, and people totally won't complain about the lack of public transit. A well done city indeed.

thats a damn lie. Having to demolish shit later on in the game for a highway or elevated rail is DEFINATELY not fun. A pre laid out transit network is very good in my opinion. It gives you a framework in which to layout your city (commercial areas, res, industry, recreation) Of course, I use the money tree to make sure i have enough money for all of it, and some may say thats "cheating". But i go for realistic cities, so i download a lot of mods that allow for realism.

Must be kidding me, the funniest part of SC4 could be trying to make a circular boulevard around the city core and financial disctrict trying to don't demolish all. Like in real cities.

The money three is so stupid, you don't have fun at all if you don't earn your money.

Of course i like realism me too, and in the real world there's no three mod or pre-laid cities, exceptions are few new made cities.

nah, that's not a stupid question. It took me about a year to find out that you could rotate structures. Simple: use the "Home" and "End" keys to rotate clockwise/counterclockwise.

Haha, after making this video, I thought it would suck really bad. GLR is nicer than heavy rail but the "converter" I used was an Elevated Rail to Heavy Rail Transition (I think I said it wrong in the video). Now, on the STEX, there is a GLR to Hard Rail converter, but the author never updated it so it's FAR back in the STEX archives. So, to answer your question, GLR wouldn't have been useful in this case.

for some reason i cant connect my elevated rail to the station. the rail just end right before the station begins

It may be because your station is too high above the rail. The error message may say "Unsuitable Grade for Construction." My suggestion is to either lower the ground or build the station elsewhere. If you have anymore questions, PM me.

but i build the rail right next to the station, so that there's about 1/4 of a square of space from the rail to the station. It should auto connect the two, like it does in your video, but it doesn't. Is it a setting or something, or a glitch?

Oh, okay then. I don't have that plugin anymore but I think I remembered what I did when I made the video. I placed the converter onto a piece of El Rail that was already dragged. I hope that helps. If not, I will try to think of something else.

It might be the hill grade where the station is placed is too steep to finish. try lowering the elevation.

(This is how I use them)

Railroads are used for passengers traveling long distances and are also used for freight.

Monorails are the "high-end" way of public transportation. I mainly use them in downtowns and richer areas in my cities.

Elevated rail/subway is what I mainly use for "ghetto" areas and regular downtowns. If I have enough room in my cities, I usually use Elevated Rail. If the room ends, I use the subway.

1st answer: I am not sure what you're exactly asking, please explain further.

2nd answer: I also had this problem, I think there are 2 or 3 ways. ONE: Go to the ordinance menu (budget menu) and activate the "Commuter Shuttle Service" and/or the "Auto Emission Reduction Act". TWO: Put more stations (such as subways and el stations) in. THREE: Re-route your interstates.

you get to have highways, monorails, euro-contemporary building theme, and other things that deal with transportation. It is also worth getting it because many downloading sites (i.e. Simtropolis, sc4 devotion) have downloads mainly for SimCity 4: Rush Hour and Sim City 4: Deluxe Edition. So it is worth getting Rush Hour
