  • i like her music videos

  • this isn't her video. if you read the description it says "Beautifully done unofficial video for the Regina Spektor song Somedays"

  • Such a sad song, the video is brilliant too. Regina has an amazing voice, Im surprised she isnt selling more albums. She's pretty too...which helps.

  • creepy video...

    haha

  • I meant say that love makes us become less conscious than we can be in a relationship. love is a gorgeous thing, but while it gets together people, in other hand, it pushes them away... love is the most crazy thing in this world and I love to love. Regina Spektor knows how to deal with this love's idea of mine... lo lo lo lo!!! hugs

  • Nunca había visto este video de Regina, es hermoso. Who did it?

  • This should just be the official music video. That dude should contact RS

  • oh, sad song and sad video... the moon took her away from him. both them got alone... is what the love makes of us...

  • What do you mean that's what love makes of us.

  • I love this song...

  • good song, poor sound quality

  • poor centaur :(

  • this song always make me wanna cry.

and I don't even know what it's about.

  • From which album this song was taken?

  • Soviet Kitch or however its spelt

  • centaurs!

  • when i listen to this song i start thinking in sweeney todd

  • what a beautiful song..

  • i wish someone would put a piano tutorial on this...that was a beautiful song...:,>

  • She's into this whole narnia thing isn't she?

    Ha

  • I swear, man.

Her voice is so beautiful . . . makes me want to cry at certain points.

    Like in this song when she goes, "Don't . . . don't . . . "

  • Sadness. :'(

  • that was so beautiful :'(

  • wait did i guess the story right?

the centaur girl ran away from her home with her father centaur because she fell in love with the moon???...im trying to get the story of the literal symbolism...i knw its deeper i just wanna get the surface.

  • No no...

The female centaur and the male centaur look to be about the same age. I think it's implied that they're lovers/partners and that their romance has begun to fade away.

The girl centaur feels that it's time to move on and finds new opportunities with the moon.

It's a beautiful video, but I don't believe that it's intended to literally portray the lyrics to the song.

  • i like that theory.

    [:

    beautiful. <3

  • oh..ok XD i just thought cus the lyric's said "im in love with your daughter" that the moon was trying to say that to the male centaur which i implied was the female centaurs father because of the word "daughter'. but hey i guess we are all entitled to our own opinions :). i just saw it as a father figure that's all

  • This is an unofficial video, and the lyric "I'm in love with your daughter" was taken from a song by another artist.

  • Great song.

  • actually i take it back

the more i hear it the more i like it :)

  • that always happends, you hear a new song and think that you don't really like it, but then you love it ^^ It was like that for me with this song, I couldn't take it seriously but now I love it so so much <3

  • i love regina but i really don't like this song :(

  • this song is so sweet, i am totaly in love with it.

next time im feeling totaly depresed and need something pritty to listen to, it'll be this hands down

  • omg wow go you! :) love it

  • I had no idea this wasn't the official video for the song!!! This video is AWESOME!!! I'd say it was better than the song, but it's a terribly good song. So I'll just say they compliment each other fantastically, and thanks for the video!

  • it's Like smacking art ! I don't know whether she did the feature part or not of this video but what i can say ...she really get into what she is trying to express and you feel it LIKE THAT, no exception.

best part: don't come , don't write , don't write don't write .. so she use that rougness and then you fucking freak out with hey mellow voice , and the image of the video goes exactlly with the feeling, FUCK ! amen Regina. just thinking what it would be like being on your THOUGHTS (K)(K)

  • Oh my days i love this song =]

  • Sweet..

  • This song makes me cry.

  • I think the part that really touched me is when she says "stronger than the friends you try to keep by your side" because I've moved a lot so I know how it feels to care about someone and hope the relationship will stay strong but have distance tear it apart

  • me too...

  • this song is so strangly beautiful.. ya know?

  • i love this song but i can never find a safe downloadable version

  • What if you purchase the "Soviet Kitsch" album? Or, purchase this specific song off iTunes? Those would, probably, be two safe bets.

  • oh thanks. i guess that would make sense if i had thought it through. thanks

  • Can you write me the lyrics of this song? Thanks =)I love Regina

  • i cant watch the video cause the net connection in this cafe is so f$&!? slow.. s2pid cafe!!!

  • surrealist

    Dalí

  • The first two lines could be in a birthday card.

    "Somedays aren't yours at all,

they come and go as if they're someone else's days,

but today is DEFINITELY your day!"

Sorry, that was just the first thing to come into my head when I hear this song. x]

  • I think you should call Hallmark and tell them your idea, but tell them that you DEMAND two centaurs to be on the front of it, and they must be wearing party hats.

  • That video is really marvellous.

  • Strange but for some reason her riding on the moon makes me think of a girl driving off with a guy in a red sports car. O_o Oh well nice video I can tell a lot of work went into making this.

  • This song is so beutiful, so sad. I love the video, I think it really suits the song, in a weird way...

    'Somedays aren't yours at all'

    ~x~

  • OH MY GOD SHES A HORSE.

  • no they're centaurs, half horse and half man. I'm sure you already know this though

  • THis song, is so sad, so touching, yet I can't take it too seriously when I see this video... it's still a good video though

  • I agree, the first time I started to listen and was like "ummm...nah" then I listened to it without the video and just played spider solataire. It stuck with me after that

  • it's so sad! i love it <3

  • Przepiękna piosenka

gdy jej słucham wracają wspomnienia , niestety przykre :(

  • The first time I heard her music she was automaticly my favorite singer!

  • i got chills

    <3

  • i love her music, its amazing how she makes these songs, very beautiful and at times saddening. Yes this is coming from a guy :p

  • I love her, she has the most amazing and unique voice I have ever heard.

  • dude im freakin' crying

  • this is beatuiful

i really love this video and the song..

    it really good

  • I went through a state of depression...like seriously sit at home all day, shade closed except for when the sun is going down, and I would listen to this song over and over and over again. For some reason this song just has so much meaning to me.

  • Try dancing next time ;)

Do you care to polka with me?

  • I will try dancing. I dance to everything, but this song is a tough cookie to dance to. And to tell you the truth...I dont know how to polka.

  • I feel so bad for him

    anyways I love this video

  • me too. sometimes this video makes me cry.

  • What happened to your heart Krougeau? I hope it's okay.

  • I really love how she does that mumming bird sound at the end, she has such a pretty voice

  • whatever diety rests on high decided we needed fantastic music...so he/she/they gave us Regina Spektor.

  • that stupid half silver moon!!!

    get her back down here!!!

we can file a case against the woman thats adultery!!

    LOL!

  • just let her go... she's happy now

  • I want to fucking marry Regina Spektors voice. and song writing talent.

  • sooo beautiful and

    sad

    im emotional

    i cried

    : (

  • let it out haha

  • If I could, I would've cried too.

  • Wow.

This video is brilliant, and this is an unofficial one, I agree with "Aethlewine" .

    Thank-you for the video .

    X - X

  • so did the guy who made this video, just give it to her as a labor of love or did he get paid for it? you can tell he spent a long time making it. this is an exelent song and cool video, thank you for posting it. it has made my day

  • Maybe he did as an assignment for an advanced film course? But yes, it is a wonderful video!

  • Awh. This is so beautiful.

  • *the melody is sort of haunting.

  • Mr. Moon doesn't give a fuckin shit about anyone or anything.

  • i think this should pretty much be the official video!

  • I believe a lot of her songs are stories written from other people's perspective.

  • Agh, this song makes me want to cry. So full of meaning, as are all of her songs. T__T

    Regina, we love you! <33

  • This is a beautiful song. She has a very lovely voice.

  • this is definitely an amazing video. I really enjoyed it.

  • amazing how many talented people are out there. regina of course is amazing. but this video artist - Jonathan Vardi - i no slouch himself

  • wow cool!!

it reminds me in narnia, the beginning of the video...:)

  • I like the song, but the video just reminds me of Zebras in America. Listen to my hooves...

  • wow

  • soundtrack of my life, at the moment.

    regina, you're amazing :)

  • I cry every time i watch this!

  • This video was very beautiful! So artistic!

  • Regina is not an autobiograpical songwriter. Just because the line is "I'm in love with your daughter, I want to have her babies" doesn't mean anything towards Regina herself, okay?

  • I have to admit that I'm a huge Regina Spektor fan and the first few times I watched this video I didn't like this song. Listening to the song much later made me like it a whole lot. In fact, it makes me very emotional now. This is the only atypical reaction I've had to any of her songs... Weird.

  • hmm... i think its about the girl wanting bigger and better things.. soo i mean the moon represents a better not so normal man... but then she finds herself not being good enough for the moon.. nobody wins in this story

  • Well, it doesn't matter if shes gay or not. However, it is interesting. A song that jenny owen young sings. As Regina's voice in the beginning. It's seems like a love song written for her. Don't know.

  • Interesting, you rly don't need to be gay to write a person of the same sex a love song, it could be just fantasy writing like she usaully does.

  • i am in love with this video :]

  • 1300 and 1 ratings :D

  • his face when shes going away on the moon is so shocked and hurt! it made me wanna cry!

  • I still don'w understand the video... They seemed perfectly happy at the beginning, and then she leaves... Why? :( Beautiful song, though. No one can deny that.

  • I always pplay this song over and over again, and I would do so with your beautifull video too. It is magical, so lovely, so sad. It interprets the song to the word, to every tune, to the very last note.

    Many many congratulations!

  • I would leave that centaur's ugly-ass face too if I were her...

  • when this song ends i always want to hear... and colder than urs but still, beautiful song.

  • Johnathan Vardi makes amazing videos and I love Regina

  • wow..i had never heard this song before i saw this video...it is amazing. like many people have said, regina writes songs from many different points of view, not just from hers. this song is brilliant. regina spektor gets me through my day.

  • my english is not very good (i come from germany) and i don't understand the lyrics but i like the song.

can some explain me in some easy words what's meant with the song?

    thanks a lot.

  • we don't understand either.

we just listen because there are phrases (certain sentences) we can relate to, and it comforts us that other people like her too.

there are many deep meanings, i suggest you pick your own :D

  • this is such a awsome song i love it

    xD

  • I love this video <3

  • I am in love with your dinner, So can I have a piece.

"I am in love with your daugher, can I have her babies" would have been interesting though.

  • haha maybe. Sounds like something Regina would say

  • wait, it doesn't say the daughter thing?

i totally thought that was one of the clearest parts of the song!?! oops.

  • Great video for a great song. Definitely, some days aren't yours at all -- and it's harsher than yours.

  • i like this video and music. regina is the best! =)

  • "im in love with your daughter,I want to have more babys" i think the words are xD

  • I think the words are

"I'm in love with your daughter. I want to have her baby"

Which I think is just awesome.

  • Centaurs.. cool! :D

  • Looking back at all the comments, I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that 'I'm in love your daughter, can I have her baby' was not her lyrics. It's an exerp from a song I've never heard of.

  • She sang this song on the 'Tonight Show' a couple years back. Great performance of a great song.

  • Abobrik87 is correct. Regina's songs are not autobiographical, but rather are based on scenarios and characters drawn from her imagination.

  • Aside from being trendy/silly to inquire after a rather private celebrity's sexuality, the whole discussion stems from the preconception that singer/songwriters are narrating themselves, which most Regina fans know isn't always the case for her--that her songs are instead stories about other people, rather than views into her own life. Just because it's a female singing lyrics regarding loving a female doesn't mean the speaker of the song (like the speaker of a poem) is female.

  • Aside from the ongoing discussion on whether Regina Spektor is gay or not - nobody seems to consider bisexuality? At any rate, it is irrelevant. Her music is wonderful :)

  • I love this song..absolutely wonderful.

  • the part of her saying she's in love with your daughter and wants to have her baby in my opinion is Regina quoting the person she is singing about, a guy, He is talking to the father of the girl that is pregnant? agree?

  • Just enjoy the song...

  • i did enjoy it.. ?

  • Actually, it says in the actual cd booklet that that part is from another song called "Your Daughter" by a guy named Eric Biondo. Also, I really don't think Regina is gay simply because through all the reading and research and listening to her music I've done so far I've never come across anything that says so. She's said herself that she gets her inspiration from everywhere, and I'm pretty sure her songs are not all about her. Beautiful song though. Love to listen to it while going to sleep.

  • Amazingly beautiful and inspiring

  • i dont think shes gay i just think she sang the song like saying dialoug. when u read a kid a story u dont just say the parts of ur gender u read it all.

  • I love this song, and I have to say, this video really did it justice. It was beautiful and simple and sweet, just like the song.

I think Regina would be proud :)

  • TonyaGotti; This song is not autobiographical, a lot of her lyrics are stories that Regina Spektor creates and expresses through music. Listen to her lyrics carefully and you'll be able to see what i mean, take for example Chemo Limo and Braille, neither of those two are autobiographical.

  • p.s. regina is not gay

  • What makes you say that?

  • cos i heard she use to or still goes out with the lead singer of the strokes.

  • Well, that doesn't mean she can't be bi.

Or maybe she was hiding/unsure of her sexuality then. Maybe she likes guys, maybe she doesn't. All I know is that she definitely likes girls and fits into the LGBT community weather she's a part of it or supports.

  • lol you sound pretty definate but how do you know i read on here that she's never made a claim to be gay or bi so despite what majority is saying you obviously have some kind of proof that she is... share it.

  • She took part in a concert at a Gay Pride parade. And some of her songs are clearly sung for a girl in a romantic way.

  • fair enough but people have said she sings from other peoples perspectives. ahh well who really cares at the end of the day.

  • True, true.

She's a good singer whether she's gay or not.

  • Like this one :) "I'm in love with your daughter." ;)

  • fuck thats good.....

  • I dont get this song... Shes In love with the daughter? and wants to have her baby?!

  • i dont get the video...

  • great video for a great song!

  • is this an actual regina spektor video or was this just a video made out of her song?

  • :( This makes me cry everytime i watch it..Truly beautiful

  • I'm glad this wasn't depressing...

Seriously, this was quite creative. You do Regina justice, Jonathan :-)

  • Her voice is very beautiful. There's no words to describe her. <3 She's Unik!!!

  • Wow.

    That is beautiful.

    Truly.

I love all her music and videos,

    they're so unique.

    xoxo

  • Wonderful video! I wonder if she's seen this...

  • that vid is just amazingly beautiful!!

  • This song is very beautiful!!! I L0v3!!!

    Her voice is so fabulous!!!

she sounds like Amy Lee at 1:10 and 2:03!

  • chip is a cunt

  • i think the most powerful part of the song is when she sings "I'm not here, not anymore"

  • Simply beautiful...

  • makes me cry to see the love in the video

  • This video is gorgeous.

  • What i think this song is about is how sometimes decisions are out of your hands and how that can leave a sadness in you that not even "your closest friends" can shake. This song revolves around the love of a man of a woman he can't have and that decision isn't his to make and it's left this sadness that he can't shake and that isn't really representative of himself: "downtown i'm not here not anymore" "it (powerlessness) leaves behind someone elses face, harsher and colder than yours".

  • I, think, friendship, love, abstained, as you say hobobetty . i even dare to say, regina may of had help with the lyrics by a co-writer. not that it takes away from the artist , prsenter; the lyrics are so powerful, i just wonder.
