All her life, Elizabeth adored her mercurial father. But she was quietly faithful to her mother too, she wore a locket with a portrait of her mother, and never took it off, once she was queen.
I think Queen Jane brought out the best in Henry. And had she lived, he would have stayed faithful to her, and probably would've saved a lot of the others heart-ache.
Anne boleyn probably hurt Henry the most...but she gave birth to the best queen, ans even as young as she is..elizabeth showed she is just her mothers daughter.
That's a very beautiful scene. It shows that both Jane Seymore and Mary care for Elizabeth. - and that this little girl, who will grow op to become a great ruler, also have been a little helpless child.
I actually teared up when I first saw this. It's odd but it's almost as if, upon finally coming face to face with her, he realises that he had been cruel to say she was not his daughter.
@MarinaMaxwellYuy I don't know French, but would love to know the words that Elizabeth and her father exchanged. It was just a wonderful scene for me in the movie.
I love this scene. In this scene he finally understands that Elizabeth is not a monster that Anne left to him, but a lonely little girl and his daughter.

*sigh* if only Jane survived and Edward wasn't ill....and they all praised the same religion.

@judylbrumley I'll translate it for you.
* Elizabeth arrives*
E: Your Majesty, how are you?
H: I'm fine, my little one. Come here.
* He takes her on his knees*
H: Careful...
* He kisses her*
H: I'm with my family.
