  • Ive been looking all around for a gents siren, but obviously they are hard to come by these days lol, really want one. Ive only got two klaxon models at the moment

  • Man i really would like that siren.

  • dude put all of those togher and make a vid i dare ya 2 make 1 and scare alot of ppl

  • it sucks that they don't make those anymore.

  • beutiful siren. Looks like you did an excellent job of restoring it. Would love to hear it at full power once you get it all wired up properly.

  • That is the same sound but give it 240vac and youll hear a LOUD fire alarm

  • How old is it??? It looks like its new or did you re-do it????

  • I restored it,as it has been on a roof for

    60 years.Made in 1938

  • Dare you to put your finger in there

  • Have already, and now need someone to pick my nose

  • ouch...

  • This is a cool siren, I hate raining on people's parade, but just a little advice, you might not want to test it if it's cloudy or rainy, because people might think there's a tornado warning or something.

  • urr damn rite... I HAVE always wanted a siren since i was a kid.. dont ask me why, even i have no idea. but theres something about the WW2 british sirens that somehow sends a tingle down my spine!!

  • A very haunting sound especially when they used to test all of them.

  • hmm lol i would give someone 5 bucks to put there finger in there lmao

  • Nice siren.

  • Thanks,I am going to give it a full power run

    soon,but not in the van.

  • I'll bet there are gonna be men in uniforms who want to talk to you if you set em off in London.

  • So it was a wye motor to begin with? Why did they rewind it to delta?

  • The only reason i can think of,was when there was a

maintenance and overhall program of the siren system in the late 60s ands early seventies when they found that a lot of them didnt work.

Or it could have been just to ease the burden of getting the sirens to start possibly an overstretched

    three phase supply?.

  • i second that as i have three coming my way

  • Three of which vintage?

  • Imagine if we put all are sirens together and set them off !

  • that would both be very loud and very cool!

  • Just had a thought, if you could connect all your sirens together, and place them a few hundred feet apart, it will sound like the warning in the middle of London during WW2!!!

  • Your getting the idea

  • I thought these sirens were rare? they seem to be re-appearing!

Awesome clip, about as loud as mine can get with a drill.

Nice long wind down, mine takes ages to stop even at a slow speed!

looking forward to the legendary Air Raid Alert signal!

  • Hey Dan,This was running at one fifth power which was realy just to get the windings moving.

Again they are rare but it is just a question of being quick as they are tucked away in various parts

of the country, and is a matter of hunting them down

and brandishing a wad of dosh at the owner. (i did)

    !Get your siren restored

    Take care phil

  • Hi phil, is that the gent siren that was on ebay a few weeks back? I was about to bid on it and it suddenly disappeared lol well done if it is...it's gone to a good home.

  • It was just to good to miss and the last owner

just wanted the dosh so it had to be done.

Hopefully get some good sounds on soon

  • id say that is cleaner than what they would have been new, excellent job,i look forward to hearing the full blast off

  • Really cant wait to see her run on full power;) and what lovley condition. Gr8 job:)

  • That end plate is very shiny as it has a mirrored effect. Wasnt lame at all, was a nice bit of slow running! I noticed the wind down... means you get more for your money!

  • VERY TRUE

  • This was a very lame attempt but at least the exercise to get her running was a success, and we know what she will do on full power.

This one has a very long wind down which is eerie.

  • At least you got her running up! But I did think today wouldn't be good for you as it totally pissed it down! Get your drill out!
