the brutes are the huge armored guys with axes and i think you're unable to block their attacks. but you can counterattack, but it's hard to do it with them.

The symbol the guy was talking about is on the roof of the whore house Snake. If you use eagle vision it glows red or blue i think. Its a big symbol.
