  • Dear Yuan, its nice to know that you enjoy the melody inspite of not knowing the language! You can imagine how our joy becomes double when we follow the lyrics also. I have been searching for a 'bhajan'(pertaining to God Almighty)by Talat mehmood and Geeta Dutt.....the lyrics are ....Hazaar haath waale, mandir ke dwaar khule aur tere moonh pe taale....the movie is probably,Har Har Mahadev.I will be thankful if you could upload the same.

That song is from "Maha Pooja" [1954] and I do not have it.

However, someone has posted it, the Audio.

Just type the words "Maha Pooja 1954" and you should get it.

    Thank you.

  • @jopp2005 - My dear friend, almost all these songs and many thousands more have been "re made" in to our local languages for ages and since we do not know Hindi/Urdu, we always go for the melody and melody only!

So we choose the best and naturally these songs are very popular in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and millions of expatriates living in other countries, including the Sri lankans too.

    Thank you.

  • This is the finest ghazal of all time

  • What a beautiful melancholic song by the Ghazal King Talat Mehmood. Lovely lyrics, music composition and the velvet voice of Talat make this a most memorable experience. Thanks yuan for this truly magical treat.

  • talat mehmood in a blue mood ! one of his finest of the finest ghazals .

    thanks yuan

  • @crazyoldsongs - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Hello Yuan. Sorry, Nadira appeared with Talat in three films, Dak Babu, Raftaar and Waris. Suraiyya(Waris & Malik) and Shyama in two films each.

Since Naushad and Talat were at opposite ends of the rope, Kardar signed up Ghulam Mohammad for music in Dil-e-Nadaan 1953. This was Talat's first film as a hero after coming to Bombay from Calcutta. He had appeared in film Aaram 1951 singing "Shukriya aye pyar tera shukriya" for Anil Biswas. Film starred Madhubala, Dev Anand and Premnath.

  • Hello Yuan. TY. I think that the entire music for this film was composed by Ghulam Mohammad. True about Peace Kanwal. Shyama is the only actress who appeared with Talat in two films, Dil-e-Nadan and Lala Rukh. She once revealed that she was secretly in love with the King of Ghazals.

  • Classic Talat Mehmood number! Thanks for the upload Yuan.
