@C63AMGestate - Hmm, now would probably not be a good time for me to tell you that a Lamborghini SUV is on the cards... The only thing delaying them is whether the market is large enough to justify the tooling.
I'm a diehard Ferrari fan and I'm always interested in news from Maranello but as impressive as Ferrari's first awd car may be I think Pininfarina misfired with the design. A wagon silhouette is not going to drive buyers in the American market wild. Maybe it should fare well in Europe but I think the shape of the 612 scaglietti made more sense even though the headlights looked unspectacular. 458 Italia will still the car that best represents the brand's bloodline...until the F70 is revealed.
I'm sure it's a cool car but the video leaves me flat. Looks like it's going 50 mph and the sound is the same canned audio used over and over. If you want the hair to stand up on the back of your neck, look up the company video for Aston Martin's One-77. Real speed, real sound.
@rednil08 - This is a 'good' video for Ferrari, if you take a look at the branded videos on our Ferrariworld channel in SkiddPlayer (skiddplayer [dot] com), then you'll see what I mean. It's hard to reconcile how such an iconic brand can produce such average videos and use such cheesy music. This one is a masterpiece by their usual standards and I wouldn't wish to wager on what their next will be like. Don't hold your breath..
@hawhawdecarabaw - that's just the crude disguise it was wearing during the winter testing programmes - most of the early spy pictures were of it wearing these panels (they're plastic) and led to the rumours that it would be a shooting-brake design.
@xElNinohhx i can guess that ur a Porsche fan.. i think it resembles everything a Ferrari needs... power, handling and looks... the Panamera and the FF looks totally different...
@libofsharaku - really? in our line of work we see plenty of Ferraris and my favourite of recent years is the 599GTB - you need to see them in the metal to judge them and the best designs grow on you as you walk around them.
Despite people raving about the 458 Italia, I don't personally like it. I bought a F430 nearly 5 years ago and that was one of the 'few' Ferraris that I liked. I would buy this new FF, its subtle, flows well and suits my preferences, but it's not for everyone.
I'm starting to like this shooting brake design. I'd like to learn more about the AWD system but that direct injection 6.3 liter V12 is really all I need to know. I really hope they put this new engine in the upcoming Enzo replacement. It'll definitely be in the 599 successor.
Looks good! Wen Ferrari sent me an email that they were going to make a new car I never thought it would look Look this. They were able to make a 4 seater look good. I see alot of 458, 612, and California mixed in this car
@ATCRyderX - yes 4 wheel drive, as in both front and rear axles receiving power. Our understanding at the moment is that 4WD remains engaged up until 70 mph (120/km/h) and thereafter the FF switches to just powering the rear wheels - but we've still to recieve confirmation from Ferrari on this point.
The reason why Ferrari produced this video is to demonstrate that this is a 4WD system which is performance oriented and is great fun drifting.
@ATCRyderX - my pleasure. Top Gear are the biggest and most significant brand for car makers, so they give Top Gear access to their new metal a few months before the rest of us. The new Top Gear TV series begins this weekend and most episodes are already filmed, but it 'might' manage to sneak in on a final episode otherwise Top Gear magazine will likely lead with the story.

Isn't it ironic that the tractor manufacturer (Lamborghini) hasn't sold out and made a big fugly 4WD SUV thing?
(Yes, I know they made the LM002, but that thing was a fucking beast!!!).
