The above comment is well made. £50 million is a huge whack of money for one project. I'm sure this divided by 3 still could achieve many of the goals which the bidders hope to carry out. Or at least perhaps even a joint 1st place?
Keep up the good work though Sustrans. Now is the perfect time to capitalise on encouraging people to take up alternatives to the car, what with the environment and obesity featuring daily in the media.
Hi all,
Remember the competition gives £50million to either Connect2, Black Country, Eden or Sherwood.
If Connect2 wins, ALL 79 schemes will go ahead.. all over the UK. Afan, Glasgow, Bradford, Islington, Rhyl, Bristol etc etc etc.

My vote goes to Afan Forest Park scheme.

So why oh why the competition in the first place???
These are all worthy projects, none better than the other, why not give all a piece of the 50mil?
Shouldn't that be the purpose? All together, all equal, all one?
By giving to some and not to others we'll be doing what we have been doing all along. And look where that brought us.
Support all, and put an end to more competition.
Was just a though.
