Michael Des Barres best stuff ever was his vocals in Detective back in the later 70's. That band was too underated for a band signed to Zeppelin's Swan Song label. They were better musicians than Bad Company by a freakin' long shot, but their records just didn't sell.

I know the Detectives, I've got their album, it's great. However, how many of you out there have heard of Des Barres first band, Silverhead, absolutely one of my favorites ever, specially their second release, "16 and savaged" Check it out!

No, he is not freakin gay, geez! He is English (British), and he is not homophobic like many stereotypical "American" males. He doesn't have a problem with saying another man looks handsome. I think that the ability to do that shows a security in your own sexuality and identity, and also he is showing a sense of humor here. GS gets ragged on a lot for his hair--it may have been a bit of the the well known British dryness and tongue-in-cheek humor here, too.

I was in love with him when I was a kid. My sister took me into the Speakeasy Club in England and he was there. He was dressed in cute little black baby doll shoes, long sleeve shirt with ruffles, velvet pants and jacket. He was gorgeous!

It didn't change my mind about him. I was raised that everyone is the same on the inside and the only thing different about us is we all look different. My parents told me that everyone has a right to choose their own religion and who they want to be with.

No, he's just British. It's easy to confuse the two. He's a GREAT singer and frontman. Chequered Past, Silverhead, Detective, and his solo stuff all rock. Check it out.
