funny how much the cars got airborne back then, i remember it was almost commonplace. it took NASCAR a long to time to implement the roof flaps but thank fuck they did!
i hate kerry earnhardt- he took blaise's life. he intentionaly wrecked blaise and to me that equals murder at least homocide and i will never forgive kerry for that-blaise had more talent in his pinkey than kerry has in his whole fucking body-kerry i hope blaise haunts you every single second you still breath air you piece of shit.
@don28pa your a fucking idiot If ARCA or anyone thought it was on purpose the law would have come in an arrested him, do you blame anyone for Tony Roper's death? what about Sr? I'm no fan Of Kerry's but it was racing, That neck brace that Blaise wore was useless in an impact like that.
He just names this video a "tribute" to get more views....what a low life dumfuck to use someone's tragedy to better himself....sorry mother fucker....fucking asshole....this video should be removed
This may be the worst "tribute" concept ever... Actually though, not considering the title, I believe this is a good crash compilation video. Good work on this.
No offense, but this is one of the oddest "tribute" videos ever. A guy gets killed so you make a "tribute" video to him showing a bunch of brutal crashes where others don't get killed. What is that all about? Why not just list this as a crash video? Most tributes show something good about the person that passed away. Clips of THEM racing or pics of THEM racing, not other drivers.
@ShortTrackNews maybe "tribute" was the wrong word here. point is to make sure that people know who he was. don't like it? stop watching.
and try to remember that every video on youtube isn't made specifically for you. people who aren't fans of racing still like seeing crashes. why not give them what they want?
I see it as looking @ the situation from the other drivers eyes. They were all bad crashes that could have turned for the worse. I'd bet all of these drivers that walked away thank their own "higher power" for sparing them, and tip their hats to those that didn't walk away. You're right, racing isn't about crashing, but we all seem to anticipate "The Big One" every time we see the green flag drop. After the 2001 Daytona crash, however, I sense, our attitudes have changed.
@Fan48 i dont think this guy was saying he didnt like the video just said it was kinda odd that someone would make a video tribute about someone that was killed in a racing accident when all thses wrecks were worse looking than what the guy who was killed was in. He wasnt saying he didnt like it. Just odd. Dont be so up tight about it.
@SPAZZY1912 the 54 was todd bodine and the 23 was kenny wallace. i believe that crash was during the august michigan race of 2003. something like that
@Jelsick I thought the same thing. It might not be the case for that track, but some tracks have weird infield barriers because of road course events. Some racers have died because of these really dumb designs.
@subzero92MK: Look, some of those drivers are Richard Petty, Ricky Rudd, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Michael Waltrip... Last time I checked, those guys were alive. So...
Oh, someone did die, but not in this video. Davey Allison (the black car flipping wildly at 01:15) crashed here in 1992, died in a helicopter crash the following year.
I really don't understand why anyone would post an orgy of car crashes to memorialize a driver killed during a race. The impression I received is that this is a dangerous, brutal sport where drivers lose control of the cars and cannot be protected from subsequently being hit by other traffic. In a word, tragic.
Tom Usry (February 9, 1937 - ) is a former NASCAR driver from Sanford, NC. He competed in one Nextel Cup Series and five Nationwide Series events in his career.
Usry's lone Cup start came in 1970, when Usry raced at Malta. Starting 23rd in the field of twenty-eight, Usry fell quite a few laps down but still ran to a respectable 11th place effort. Usry didn't make another start, but is best remembered for a spectacular Twin 125 crash in 1984 while trying to qualify for the Daytona 500.
I never knew Blaise Alexander, but in those days on ESPN2, they'd show hours of coverage during Daytona Speedweeks, including ARCA practice, qualifying, & he was always a great interview, w. a good sense of humor & able to laugh at himself when he made a mistake. He & BP had some great talks on TV w. jokes & kidding around. He was always fast & exciting to watch, so I followed him pretty closely. His fatal crash was a great shock & I've never liked racing as much since. We still remember.
the most unsafe period in nascar would be the early 90's in (and the last years of) the sportsman division. the cars were too fast and the drivers were too inexperienced. 99-02 is close though. RIP to all.
