  • I LOVE MOTHS INVITE IF YOU LOVE MOTHS

  • @qirlylady i am terrified of them

  • @qirlylady love em, have atlas, deaths head, regal and elephant hawk. beautiful creatures

  • That's precisely the point of evolving an (aposematic) ocelary system: to scare the shit out of birds and other potential enemies that wanted to aproach them. I've even read articles by lepidoptherologists, who confess that seeing some especies in action is quite impresive and breath-taking.

So is perfectly normal (actually natural) to initialy feel quite nervous with these animals around you; of course, there's no reason at all to be cruel with them: they're harmless.

  • lately these little birds have been eating moths...so everywhere at my door steps theres little moth wings...eww

  • I would be scared to destroy it's wings.

  • i had one bigger than my plam in my pool.

i said "hey dad check this out" he came over and the moth started flapping in the water it scared the shit out of me.

  • lol thats fuckin funny man. I got on in my room right now. They make good room mates. Never say much always quite. they protect me in my mothers basement. I can't compline

  • Dude i found one of those in my house u coud hear it flapping its wings it was the size of a bird

  • fucking hell i have a clinical phobia of them. in real life i freak out and have spasms and shit but it is embarrasing when i see one round my friends and i freak out, ones on computer screens and the tele dont bother me much so

  • @damiannerd dude i got a same problem as you...they fucking freak me out...one them come flying near me while i was with my GF at park and i freaked out and ran away like a little bitch

  • @damiannerd Same here. I like to learn about them online and some of them are really beautiful. But in real life, i would running away in pure panic.

  • Don't touch the damn thing you idiot.

  • Has anyone seen those huuuuuge moths that are bigger than that one? They're black colored. If you do, just to tell you that once one of those entered my room, and it was flying everywhere and my whole family was scared of it XD

  • The brown ones are the scariest

  • giant moths of the gargantuan size haunt my back yard like the leviathons haunt the ocean floor, stalking there prey waiting for the right moment to attack and scare there every fear into an abyslly state until it eventually dies

  • moths are scary as hell ESPECIALLY when there on your door and you cant open it cuz you dont want it to fly in

  • its legs are ugly

  • Hahha xD *poke, poke* Helooo wake upp! 8D

  • i saw one just like that this morning

  • "I hope some huge ass moth kills you"

I'm sorry, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever read in my entire life.

  • @satsuki26 lmao...

  • @satsuki26 waaaaat!? BUT WHAT ABOUT MOTHRA!?

  • That kind of moth is not toxic. I saw that same kind of moth at a summer camp at an elementary school back in 2000. It was huge! I remember that we took pictures of it and we were watching it until we scared it away and it flew off into the woods

  • that'd be the coolest thing ever.

  • *proceeds with the murder*

  • ill kill you. how bout that?

  • platinuminc said:

".........dont touch it; they're toxic. you should have killed it. "

Neither is true. No "moths" are toxic like some butterflies, and no killing is needed.

  • that thing is so freaky...i would of screamed and woke up everyone in the neighborhood who was sleeping.

  • so cool

  • back where i'm from

    this is a bad sign!

  • to srain69...what does it mean when a moth is on your door?

  • it means something bad will befall on the family living there, that is if you don't kill it and/or burn it.

It's just a common folklore tale, nothing to worry about ;)

  • too bad the bottom wings were tucked under beacuse that's where the big eyespots are. They're at least twice as big as the spots you can see on the upper wings here

  • Polyphemus moths often rest like that. They reveal the eyespots to scare away predators.

  • Call in Godzilla, and tape the fight!

  • beautifull :)

  • Wow !!

    Very nice !!

  • Lol @ the commentary!

  • very pretty- we found one in our yard

  • check out that big ass moth on our door!

lolz but i like moths thier cool!

  • i agree they freak the fuck out of me!

  • haha, what a pussy, he was scared to even touch it.

They are harmless, and will just chill on your hand or finger especially right after they've hatched from their cocoon. That one just hatched. That's why it's so lethargic. It's not taking a damn nap. lol

  • Yeah, you touch it brave one!

  • That looks positively like a Polyphemus. So interesting how it looks like a dulled, American version of an Antheraea frithi, though.

  • whats so fuckin wrong with moths the only bad thing they do is eat ur clothes in the closet but one that big wouldnt be in the closet ther sooo beautiful

  • COOL! That is sure a BIG ASS MOTH! Its a beauty!

  • Ew, we had one like that in our backyard the other day. I hate moths.

  • Polyphemus moths generally don't move during the day. They fly at dusk and at night, and during the day they find a nice resting place and just sit there.

  • lol. there is one with us too, have a look.

yours looks a bit strange. It came to your home to bless you with wealth and sucess! Our's looks like it is kind of obese!

  • I am absolutely petrified of moths so i thought i'd try watch this to overcome my fear, definately didnt work.Thank god u dont get anything that big in the UK

  • same here, moths freak the shit outta me! god im such a pussy, :)

  • haha, that moth cant hurt you, dont be afriad to touch it. they generaly dont move very easy. that was a polyphemus moth. its not the biggest in the USA, but close to it!

  • Lol! ''Check out that big ass moth on my door'' I love in a country where there huge moths! But there not pretty at all. There all black and have nasty colors (dark green , black, dark brown.)
