You drilled a hole!!! You cheater!! Damn it, I seriously didn't think of that and it took me like 400 tries to get it out through the resistor hole... Needless to say.. It did NOT go back in... FYI. My truck had the rubber sleeve thingy around the evaporator casing (where the resistor pack went). I cut out a hole to remove the resistor and everything seemed alright.. A few years later the rubber became cracker material and broke off and fell on the headers!!! Not saying it'll happen to you..
Nice work thanks for posting this. You might consider posting this to the 'Repair Central' forum on my website so that it can go into our data base. Once again thanks for posting.
@EricTheCarGuy You welcome Eric and thank you , I know this video is helping a lot of people i receive email every day and that is a good motivation to make more.
Thanks for sending me this. Great job on the slide show. I am pretty retarded when it comes to editing, so I really admire those who can do it. I am sure this will help a lot of people...AWESOME JOB!!
@EricTheCarGuy I just completed a replacement and the whole job took 10 hours. I am glad it's done. I drilled the hole in the black box like you showed and that was a great tip. Thanks again and if anyone is contemplating this, you need not remove the dash completely as it pivots down far enough and you can leave the heat/air box in as well and remove the core pretty easily. I sold this truck and the core started leaking, so this was a freebie for the buyer. Core was $43 bucks on ebay
wanna come over and replace my heater core ????
