  • My Dad had one and lost it. It was the same as yours. It was used in WW2. And I know for sure that yours also had already seen WW2. If I get a chance to see one, I'll buy it no matter how much the price is. It's a piece of history.

  • looks old,. proofen by time,. like it,.

  • right away by the pommel & weight its a fake.

  • @jozap566 Uh-huh, you can tell by the pixels and because you've seen a few fakes in your day.

  • Hey man we just found one in the woods how do we know what time frame it's from.

  • i guarantee that knife saw a jungle or two. the sheath is waterlogged from the high humidity of that type of environment. very cool piece of history you got there. i have a brand new one and i'm not as proud of it as you should be of that one.

  • Best all around knife ever made

  • i have a Ka-Bar

  • How much would one of those cost

  • @zachdenboer these, probably at least $150 they were used in wwii or issued for it at least. they make new ones which is the same design for $60 0r $70

  • @sleek555 do u have a knife kind of like this or something you would sell me

  • @zachdenboer no i do not and i dont sell things online check ebay amazon eknifeworksdotcom yourcornerstoredotcom etc you must be a young kid check out whats out there dude

  • @sleek555 ok i buy knives from like blade play and shit but ima try those websights.

  • @zachdenboer ok be careful though lol

  • The guard is bent. I love this knife. It has to be the best fixed blade out there, as to utility.

  • Damn those AZ water coolers really rust those knives.

  • @Grungadin Some wax on the blade (i.e. better maintenance) would prevent the problem. This guy has other knives that are rusted also. If it were me, I would be ashamed to show them.

  • @whitethronebooks

pish, themn don't watch our vids... we use our knives.. keep your 'show' knives any way you want

  • The knife in your hand has been "neglected"; whoever owns that knife needs their as* kicked.

  • I love the fact that it looks used, but it kinda looks unbreakable! Majestic knife! that's the way to describe it!

  • Actually the Normal USMC KA-BAR still comes with a leather sheath.

  • Do you have to have any licence to own a knife? I'm 19 and is this knife suitable for camping, outdoors, etc.?

  • @TheMattMX

    no, yes

  • @TheMattMX Are you from America? Do you have knives in your kitchen? Are they licensed? Here's your sign.

  • @TheMattMX I would imagine that you'd only need a license to own a knife in California. But there wouldn't be any surprise there and that is why California sucks.

  • Man That a hard core lookin Ka-Bar!!!

  • This is old we get the okc3s ka-bar now its bigger heavyer longer and has a jagged edge built for slashin and hacking

  • KA-BAR's have a narrow tang. A full tang sees the blade steel retaining its approximate width through the handle of a knife, increasing its resistance to lateral stress, but also adding to the overall weight.

  • i got a leather sheath i havent seen the cheap kind

  • The Navy used them also in WWII. It was essentially the same knife, but was called the MK II. It had a different sheath.

  • well now the standard ka-bar, from the ka-bar factory, has a 7" blade and black epoxy coated steel, but there have been many versions by many different companies over the years because it's been such an outstanding knife design

  • im going to a thick forest no where specific and the great planes what kind of survival knife do you recommend that isnt to expensive but is good for those types of situations?

  • @slowandpainless For bigger, chopping-capable knives, look at Cold Steel Trailmaster, Kabar heavy bowie(long and short), ontario marine raider, scrapyard dog father, becker brute/bk series. Any of those may last a lifetime. For a shorter 6-7 inch blade knife, cold steel SRK, kabar bowie, cold steel bushman or GI Tanto, Gerber LMF, buck 119 special... just to name a few.

  • @marky2112 Thanks for the tip, really appreciate it.

  • Good review.

  • I got one of these in my car, great knife

  • Ka-Bar is all you need. best weapons ever:

    1:The United States Marine

    2:The Colt .45 ACP 1911(1991) Commander

    3:The Ka-Bar

    4:The M-16(and all variants)

God Bless Sam Colt, John M. Browning, The guy who made the Ka-Bar, and Ronald Regan

  • that is a veteran blade!!love the used appearance\!!

  • I just love that patina on old knives.

  • rusty knife

  • What year is that one it looks like an oldie

  • that's the real thing: all you need is a kabar. best from spain.

  • the amazing thing about these knives is how cheap they are. I have seen a lot crappier blades for 4 times the price of a ka-bar.

  • Seems a shame to let a good knife rust like that, if you can't be bothered to clean and oil it then send it to me, it'll get used and looked after for sure here :))

  • wow lots of rust. Polish that knife and save it while you still can!! Keep it oiled, high carbon steel needs more love than your stainless varieties.

  • one of the best.

  • Well it's not a full tang per se... It's a stick tang, still strong though.

I have a full size sage green Ka-Bar with a Kydex sheath. God I love it!!

  • @Petersworld518 is that the one with the D2 steel?

  • Nah 1095 carbon steel

  • @Petersworld518 Rat tail tang.

  • Same thing different name right?

  • you're right also ,never heard it called a stick tang. .

  • the regular Kabar is about i think 7-1/4 in. length blade or maybe 8 in

  • btw what does full tang mean

  • Full tang means that the steel continues past the blade guard all the way to the bottom of the handle. It makes the blade stronger / less likely to break off

  • yup.. what crazykirsch said

  • @chasetheknifeman It means that the blade that you see is cut thiner width wise below the blade that you see runs all the way through the handle. witch makes the blade much stronger.

  • @chasetheknifeman it means the knife goes all the way down to the bottom of the handdle because after the blade there is more because u know it needs be in the handdle to be attatched

  • How old the knife your holding

  • maybe 10 -20 years

  • @Baseballman1998 WW2 1940"s and they still work great

  • How much he'll get.?

  • How did you get that?

  • A Ka-Bar? I bought it I suppose

  • I'm sorry I should have worded that better

Where did you come across that knife and how much did you get that for?

  • Honestly I don't remember where I got this one, I might have traded it or even found it.. I can't remember buying it

They are available new on their website and all kinds of stores though

  • ah, an icon of a knife! is it possible to get hold of a royal marines commando knife? cant remember the proper name

  • That I'll leave for someone else to answer, I'm not familiar with them

  • Yes, they are easily available here in Scotland, Fairbairn-Sykes. I have several Wartime examples, one with a Lion of Belgium stamped into the grip - issue versions from the 1960s and later. Not that good a fighting knife in my opinion (Ex-Para).

  • haha, well as an ex para ofcourse you wouldnt think its that good lol. what year did you join up?

  • Back in the 1970s. The knifes were originally made in 1940, the "Mark 1" being of good quality, but the production versions, which were used by all branches of Service varied from reasonable to awful. The blade is too thin at the point, so that it may break if it hits something hard, like a buckle or water canteen. The blade is not heavy enough to cut effectively, and the knife cannot be used for utility purposes, as it is just too delicate.

  • oh, i thought it was because you, being a para, would automatically hate everything to do with the marines. but i see theres actually a valid reason, not just a bit of banter

  • These knives are not exclusively associated with the Marines. My Dad was a 1940 commando, when commandos were Army. He remembers being issued with a cork handled knife. The best version of the F/S knife made now is by Eickhorn - should be easy to get hold of one. I favour a kukri - used by British soldiers for 200 years - devastating cutting power, if you know even basic Kendo. Snag is they are heavy, but can serve as an axe, machete, as well as a fighting weapon.

  • I like them too, but I only have a wimpy sheet metal version of one

  • Get your hands on a "Forces MK. IV" from "Tora". You will realise how capable a Kukri is..

  • @GearBuyersGuide you can buy them from nepal(were they originate for cheaper than kabars I forgot the address but it is something like kurkihouse0com I bought two from their and they are solid well built knifes)

  • @malvernspring

okay are you refuring to the kabar because if you are you are sadly mistaken if it were as delicate as you clame it wouldnt have been issued an the primary millatary knife for more than 50 years.
