Trendkill, as you'll find out after going forward, you are saying this game is to linear while not having gotten into the proper game. Its like saying the same thing about Skyrim while in the caves underneath Fort Helgan in the beginning of the game.

However, I do understand that you are going into this game completely blind, and I like how open-minded you are about it!

Looks like a rather boring game for what I'VE SEEN in ONE video. Of course it could be interesting if I actually bothered to research more... Or it could be another boring game I don't know? Either way, I don't think playing two games at one time is beneficial to either in a professional way. E.g playing terraria, skyrim, minecraft and WoW at the same time makes all go really slowly and being jackofalltrades isn't too good..

Keep playing it to see if the linear play style ever ends. I haven't played it but it may be just the beginning like that. Also, they wont let you in the water to swim because they don't want you messing your pigtails up.

TrendKill, the game really opens up after you clear the area you are in, and you talk to the NPC that the gnome told you to talk to, just straight after you get outside and you'll run into him after a minute. After that you are given complete 'freedom' (not complete, its a demo afterall).

Also you can have any weapon in either your Primary or Secondary slot!

The only issue I had with watching this was that the FoV seems so tiny that the extremely severe movements the camera makes any time you move made me a little queasy. Maybe it was just because you weren't zoomed out, maybe the FoV really is that small, I don't know, but I'd never be able to play it if it is that small.

The story for this seems kind of forced. But it's only the start so it could develop more later on. If it is very story driven, then I can understand some linearity to it for the sake of keeping to a story. But if the story sucks then there isn't an excuse for the linearity. For me it seems to simplistic, so not much to experiment. Again though, this is just the start so we haven't seen what can be done in it yet.

I would love to see somebody like Bioware, Bethseda or Rockstar do a proper conversion of the Call of Cathulu RPG.

A mix of survival horror with RPG aspects would to my mind be fantastic-I don't think it could be a sand box type game, but sort of more along the lines of DA or Mass Effect.

It would make a change from the usual high fantasy stuff, I mean, there is only so many elves I can take in one day.

I just think the Lord of the Rings stuff is OK, but an RPG with a horror theme would be bang on the money. Spooky set pieces, or a dark conspiracy setting (a la Deus Ex) would be right up my street.

I would also love to see a reboot of Blade Runner (or the old Shadowrunner RPG)- proper gritty, nasty, dark cyberpunk stuff and an RPG. Fallout is cool, but not nearly dark enough for my taste.

The game is a bit too linear for my taste and I propably won't buy it, still enjoying watching you play it. I understand that some people prefer Skyrim more than this, but hopefully at some point understand that you and no one else is going to play one game forever. This is in my option the right way to go with the channel. Anyway, good video as always.

I dunno if Trend would agree, but actually having a guy that looks at the RPG genre, and not just Skyrim, is the way forward IMVHO.

A dedicated RPG review/walkthrough/tips would be great, and a niche area- I mean XboxAhoy is doing it with MW and his really cool retro games stuff.

The graphics sort of remind me of DA:Origins. I guess because its EA, although I don't know if Bioware is involved. The Exec Producer was behind Oblivion, so I am hoping it will be cool.
