@valient1122 depends on the variant, if it has a standard handguards like the romanian than yes. otherwise no. usually id you give utg a call they can help, they have a few differnt models of this rail for most % of ak's
Hi, i'm trying to install one of these right now and i can't quite get the top rail to sit fully on the bottom rail. the mounting slots are lined up and it's partially seated, but there's still about an 1/8'' of clearance without tightening allen bolts. i'm worried this will make the top rail sit funky which is an issue since i have plans for mounting optics there. it's a yugo ak for reference, not sure if that makes much of a difference here
@DirtyYogurt not sure utg actually makes these for yugo's. i would contact who you bought it for and see what model yours is for. the main reference is romanian and saiga based. again think they made yugo for a while but then stopped. not 100% sure.
the model i got is specifically for the yugo, i made damn sure since i got burned once already for not doing my homework. the model number is U470. i'll keeping poking around or just take a level to it later. thanks for the help.
I have the aim sports rail just like this on my wasr10. the lower fit with some work but the upper does not allow the screws to tighten down completely. still appears to be fine. looks awesome with the magpul afg2.
99% of the time, is is NOT the srews themselve's that strip, it is what they screw INTO.....that strips out!! So be careful that you do not strip them. Most likely the handguard itself, will be trashed.

What RedcDale said, before i spend the $100 or whatever, i'd want to know how it reacts to heat! I watched a video here of another guy, who showed his melted and cracked plastic forearm from OEM Arsenal plastic grips. This was just from semi-auto fire mind you. I'm not changing grips from the perfectly good wood ones until i know for sure i am getting something better. HOW do your grips stand up to the heat? Proof?

@1AlbaryanSabretigerr well as long its mounted like this your getting the most out of it. if its a upper handguard with a rail on it and a lower that go like the regular it wont be as tight tolerance so it can move. i would suggest the utg. as well i still have some fore sale if your intrested.

@pjroberts1968 from what i know its the same. basically you need to hit the switch that releases the gas tube tension then as well have the charging handle with gas rod out. then lift up. f you need help call 2182309457

@tdawgee really depends on how much you want to spend. tapco's isnt bad but if you only want to spend 50 bucks its a steal. besides that i suggest a tromix conversion. if you want a top notch folder thats the way to go

@cochranand UTG makes YUGO specific quad rail mounts with over sized gas returns. cheaperthandirt(dot)com will have it I think. if not check amazon. I've a similar quad rail on my WASR 10/63 AK47 had to buy a RIS style from amazon as dirt didn't have it in stock. Just make sure to snag some guards with it (plastic parts on the sides shown in the video unless you want to use a lower fore grip.)

@brandonb228 all ak's dont use all the same parts mainly just the handguard and likely that yours is meant for a differnt style maybe yugo or saiga etc...

Dude. You are my hero. Thanks a ton. You saved me untold time and energy. Ive never taken an AK apart before this and I would have never spotted that little lever in the lower hand guard.
BTW, so I guess this pretty much renders the gas tube irremovable without a lot of work? How does this affect keeping it clean? Maybe just run a mop up into it every time?
@Droshki unfortunately yes the tube will take a lil longer to get to if you wish to clean it well but moreless mop system works fairly well if you clean it within a day or so of shooting if you let it sit for a while it will get harder and crust but a ak gas system is pretty darn solid anywho
@m70c00l It turns out that it Fits on AIrsoft ak47 like my Cyma. I play airsoft as a sport.In South Africa you can only own a pistol , rifle or a shot gun (no Automatic guns like m4 / AK)but the process takes 3-4 years or even more to get a license... Seriously sux cause I can go to the squatter camps and buy a illegal AK47 with some extra rounds for half the price of a airsoft Rifle in 5 min,

@MILLATERYBOY somewhat of a myth: utg makes different models for different manufactures and romanians arnt built to exact specs each time like saiga or yugos, and not be mixed up with century yugos. but in general there great but for the price man cant complain and a ak is fairly violent so most rails "unless a true free float" a laser wont stay zeroed likely anywho because they do move mm's which for a red dot wont do it terribly bad but a laser it will make a world of difference
@ConfederateMr yes it should fit. in general all ak's take all parts like ar-15's. theres a slim chance it woudnt. also i sell the grip and the rail. give me a call at my personal cell 218-230-9457
this UTG rail system sucks, your tapco one is better, the rails end up getting to hot to use like a regular handgaurd after like 2-3 clips and if you dont ake the covers off they will melt. Also when using iron sights it confuses you because the alignment is fucked. sorry to diss it but i been there done that. intrafuse handgaurds are the way to go.
@dragunov1990 didnt have the sight problem but i have used a v grip when i used to use them. also with quad rails it release the heat more so getting hot after a clips would be logical in any metal system. it happens similar to poly etc... but steel heats up faster. but every man to there poison. sold the rifle and sell the handguards though. just got a koryanovich arms ak-47 though watch for the review soon. feel free to sub.
@Trilordy yes you have to take it off toclean but you shouldnt have to clean ur gas tube often at all. and the zeroing is prob not the right model for your gun. utg makes diff models for diff brands of ak's but they all fit all in general just not perfect
after you clean your ak or remove the top rail from the gas tube does your red dot hold it's zero? I am thinking about getting a front rail like this and am wondering how well the accuracy of a red dot is after removing for cleaning and then reinstalling. Do you have to zero it in again? @ultrabeastmode yes it is inter ordinance. you know the gun was ok at first but eventually became trouble some. i bought it right when it came out the stock caught my love lol.. so maybe i just got a bad one but i had to get a beryl mount to keep the top plate on "and yes i tried a few buying a few differnt plates" but the bcg flew it off after a few shots and it wasnt to acurate and had a crumy bent front sight post out of the box also

I put the same rail on my IO AK47-C (like yours). It is very stable and looks great. I would suggest not using the included rail covers. They are heavy and very bulky. I put on a set of Falcon Rail Ladders. They protect the rails without adding a bunch of width to the grip. Google "falcon rail ladder". I also put on the UTG collapsible stock.

@m70c00l It turns out that it Fits on AIrsoft ak47 like my Cyma. I play airsoft as a sport.In South Africa you can only own a pistol , rifle or a shot gun (no Automatic guns like m4 / AK)but the process takes 3-4 years or even more to get a license... Seriously sux cause I can go to the squatter camps and buy a illegal AK47 with some extra rounds for half the price of a airsoft Rifle in 5 min,

@MILLATERYBOY somewhat of a myth: utg makes different models for different manufactures and romanians arnt built to exact specs each time like saiga or yugos, and not be mixed up with century yugos. but in general there great but for the price man cant complain and a ak is fairly violent so most rails "unless a true free float" a laser wont stay zeroed likely anywho because they do move mm's which for a red dot wont do it terribly bad but a laser it will make a world of difference

this UTG rail system sucks, your tapco one is better, the rails end up getting to hot to use like a regular handgaurd after like 2-3 clips and if you dont ake the covers off they will melt. Also when using iron sights it confuses you because the alignment is fucked. sorry to diss it but i been there done that. intrafuse handgaurds are the way to go.

@dragunov1990 didnt have the sight problem but i have used a v grip when i used to use them. also with quad rails it release the heat more so getting hot after a clips would be logical in any metal system. it happens similar to poly etc... but steel heats up faster. but every man to there poison. sold the rifle and sell the handguards though. just got a koryanovich arms ak-47 though watch for the review soon. feel free to sub.

This rail system sucks and does not hold zero, and you must take it off every time you clean the gas tube.

@Trilordy yes you have to take it off toclean but you shouldnt have to clean ur gas tube often at all. and the zeroing is prob not the right model for your gun. utg makes diff models for diff brands of ak's but they all fit all in general just not perfect

after you clean your ak or remove the top rail from the gas tube does your red dot hold it's zero? I am thinking about getting a front rail like this and am wondering how well the accuracy of a red dot is after removing for cleaning and then reinstalling. Do you have to zero it in again? Thanks for your help.

@ultrabeastmode yes it is inter ordinance. you know the gun was ok at first but eventually became trouble some. i bought it right when it came out the stock caught my love lol.. so maybe i just got a bad one but i had to get a beryl mount to keep the top plate on "and yes i tried a few buying a few differnt plates" but the bcg flew it off after a few shots and it wasnt to acurate and had a crumy bent front sight post out of the box also

I put the same rail on my IO AK47-C (like yours). It is very stable and looks great. I would suggest not using the included rail covers. They are heavy and very bulky. I put on a set of Falcon Rail Ladders. They protect the rails without adding a bunch of width to the grip. Google "falcon rail ladder". I also put on the UTG collapsible stock.
