  • Thanks homey! God Bless!

  • This was very helpful

    thanks for sharing

  • Can you do a video, on just how to play the song "Sanctuary". This helped, I'd never think it was that easy, but what about the speacial cords like minors, and all?

  • thx this is great help:)

  • @TheCocotwist Thank you! Glad I could help!

  • So what if the chord is say a F# would you move it to a G#

  • Seriously I've been looking all over for this one. :D

    Thanks Matt and be blessed.

  • @BuBluetane glad i could help! Good luck

  • how do you sing in tune with your guitar?

  • @MsAwesomeness360 Have you watched my video called "how to sing and play at the same time?" that should help you out hopefully

  • you remind me of billy ray cyrus!!

    i dont know why

  • OMG thx so much for helping me changing keys!!!

  • @happykat241 great!

  • Nice tips, tkx!

Question though.. some songs are pretty complex in the way you play. Take for instance "Remember me" from Skid Row. The chord pattern makes it impossible to transpose without some effort to re-learn the whole song.

In that scenario, can you play the original chords and still sound in tune? The song I mentioned is extremely high, is there a way to find another, lower, key to sing in that would still sound nice?

    Cheers

  • @leonardoborgesrj Sorry but the song is actually called "I remember you" - Skid Row :)

  • PRAISE THE LORD

  • In 2:01 you should hit an E chord not a D right?

  • Good video, but tell me, how do I find out what key my voice is in? From this video it seems your best key is A, yes?

  • That's not always true. If you're in E and you're playing E A B, since there's only a half step between E and F you wouldn't be able to raise the A to a B, it would have to go to a Bb. It would be the same type of thing going from like B to C. But, besides that, that would be a really easy way to change keys. Also, there are 12 major chords, not seven. Other than that it was a really good video.

  • @folkpunk123 Hmmmm good points...thanks for the corrections

  • your guitar is beautiful

  • TY

  • sweet! thanks for the tip. new subscriber. god bless you as well. is it normal to be terrified to sing in front of anyone but know you can?

    -wadey

  • Awesome!! You made it so simple.. Thank You and God Bless.

  • You are an amazing teacher, you're making something that seemed so complex for me so easy. Thanks a lot, man!

  • Awesome taylor bro, how much was it?

  • This really helped me understand better,How do you transpose if the chords are Am or F#m,Bm,Em

    how does those pan out

  • @ChrisWooleyAC same way...Em, would go to a Fm, or if you're lowering it would go to a Dm. If you're talking F#m, it would go up to a G#m or down to a E#m and so forth...keep everything after the chord the same and just raise and lower the first letter. Don't forget you have to do all the chords in the song too., can't just change one

  • @acousticselection ooops... "E#m" doesn't exist! There's no "E#" nor is there a "B#" - The correct note sequence (starting from 'C') for one octave is: C-C#-D-D#-E-F-F#G-G#-A-A#-B-C.

It's actually easier to transpose if one thinks in 'semi-tones' (I reckon!).

    Peace!

  • in 2.02 u played d instead of e.

  • very helpful. thanks.

  • Good post OP! Simple and direct; great for beginners.

  • this is BEST video ive found on changing keys

FINALLY someone who makes it simple and doesnt try to seem like he knows everything and is just showing off

    THANK YOU :D

  • This the lesson that I way looking for. Thanks a lot brother God bless you. But what if you have for example Bm or Am or C#m how do you deal with these ones. Thanks and may God bless you and keep you healthy and strong for his Glory.

  • this is perfect bro!

  • Thanks I never knew you could do this. This really helped I always did that with capo but I like this way better. Anyways this video will help me a lot when I sing praise and worship songs for my church and God bless man

  • Thank you...really, this helps. I've heard of transcribing songs from one key to the other, but I really had no clue how you did it. I would go the easy way out & find different versions of songs online.

Either way, I thought you sounded good singing in the different keys. God bless for your videos, @acousticselection.

  • Good Job Matt... now if you could just learn how to sing... LOL.. just teasing you.. Great lesson.. the only thing I would add is that a capo lets you do that and still play the same chords.. for people that don't know how to play certain chords.. like if you take it from an E to a F.. they might not be able to play it.. but if you use a capo you can accomplish this without changing the chords.. just a thought.. thanks again.. God Bless... Steve

  • first view ya . that helpful thank you if you havent done one with a capo you should
