  • Love your hair!! Have you ever tried henna or cassia?? If so, how do they compare to the powders you are using here?

  • I use amla and other Indian herbs that are in Vatika Oil and get great results. Can buy it for $4 at Lakshmi's Cupboard online store.

  • "I don't call it grey, I call it silver"

  • do you still use these powders in your routine? I just discovered them and love them! I just stumbled on this video ,it was in my reccommended videos..i think because I was looking up vids on henna and waht not a few weeks back

  • Hi, don't know if you'd be interested but I found an online store that sells the powders for $1.99 instead of $3.39., same brand and size. The website is apna bazar cash and carry. com...They don't have as much selection but they carry some pretty nice stuff for the price

  • Oh and this comment was intended for shalina46...this is not spam!

  • Where did you get your Indian products from?

  • I get them from my local Indian market.

  • I have read that some ayurvedic products may contain high levels of metal that can be dangerous. I don't know much about ayurveda, have you heard/read about high metal levels? Thanks

  • I only use the amla, shikakai & aritha powders, and I haven't read about them containing metals. There may be other ayurvedic herbal medicines and such that may or may not contain metals. I really don't know, but you should always research something before trying if you're suspicious.

  • @friendz71 Actually I read you should be careful about the capsules of ayurvedic medicines. I think the amla hair products is completely safe! :) I use it often

  • your subies love you!!!

  • and I love my subbies!!! =D

  • is this only 4 natural hair or can it be used on relaxed hair as well?

  • Ayurvedic treatments are definitely beneficial for relaxed hair as well as natural hair. Try it... It can't hurt. Have you seen the video of how I make & apply my Amla mixture?

  • You always introducing me to some new products girl!! LOL.. Thank You :)

  • Hey, I'm just doing my job... Keeping the interest of you PJ's out there... lol

  • Since these products are not AYurvedic Licensed , how do you know that they are not contaminated?

  • hmmm, never thought about it, but I've been using them for many months, and they have't caused me any harm.

  • Nice vidoe. I love Daburs Vaticka and Alma Oil. I use Vaticka as an overnight and add to my DC. The Alma oil is a bit smelly, but my hair loves it. I use as a pre-poo. I have had hardly any shedding since I started using it.

  • Yea, Ayurvedic Treatments are what's up if you want strong hair.

  • yah ur right i dont like the smell of amla oils at all but i'll use them once a week before using shikakai powder

  • yea i couldn't take the smell of that dabur amla oil

  • Okay I'm sold! I'm either going to hunt them down in town or order online. I just ordered some raw SAA online and can't wait to get it!!!!

  • Hey girl! Did u check out my vid "How I Make & Apply Amla Powder"? ... and what it SAA? I also have an Ayurvedic playlist of other YouTubers vids on Ayurvedic treatments. The weblink to the playlist is in the description box, but def check out my other vid how I make and apply the mixture... Let me know when you get the products.

  • Hey Shi Shi! I picked up the powders today at an Indian market in town. I could'nt believe how cheap they were! I only paid $1.99 each for the amla powders. I ended up getting the Neem powder and picked up some Rose water as well. I checked out your playlist of other YT'ers, but I think I'm going to try the method you use with the DC. I like mixing just like you and I can just add the powders with the DC. They didn't have the shikakai powder tho :(

    I "Favorite" this video............smiling.

  • SAA= Silk Amino Acid. Girl this stuff is the truth. I noticed recently that my hair loooves SAA. Its in the Suave tropical coconut that I co-wash with, and the ORS replenishing DC I use. I'm going to add more olive oil to the ORS (for slippage) and add additional SAA when it arrives. The ORS conditioner and SAA are very light moisturizering proteins that have my hair so silky and behaving so nicely :)

Thx again for the review on the powders!

  • Let me know when you mix & apply ur mixture and how u like the results.

  • Hey Shida, The TJ is wonderful...I been shopping in Absecon @ Sheeji Market near the train station. His selection is limited, so I will check out the your spot. A girl needs more than one resource for her fix.... Yes, I know the PJ's keep the economy moving...Just doing my part My guy in Absecon let's me walk behind he counter and seach for what I want... You should see the looks I get ...lol

  • Miss Shida, On point as usual...where are you shopping at for your powders...The grocery store that I have shopping at the freshness factor isquestionable....Thanks

  • Hi Jackie... I go to Ganeshiva Groceries near McDonald's in Cardiff. The owner goes to the market on Tuesday, so I usually call her on Monday or the week before and ask her to get the products I'm interested in buying that week. For example, I went their last week and she was out of Vatika oil so she's gonna get some for me when she buys her stock products. Her name is Renuka, and her & her husband are really nice. If you go, tell them Rashida sent you. They know me by name, lol. How's the TJ?

  • Okay Miss Shida. I thought I posted a comment but I must have deleted it accdently. I found a website that has all the products you mentioned and I have order them. The biggest problem is the shipping cost with this company but until I find a local store or another way to purchase I went ahead and ordered. The site is eastwestbazaar. I'll let you know my outcome! Thanks for all the great tips!

  • Please share your experience with the powders... I'm very curious how your hair responds to the Ayurvedic treatments, and thanks for sharing the website. I may check it out since my local indian store doesn't have the Brahmi powder... btw, I don't think i'll be using the Aritha powder again. This powder was too gritty and took a couple days to get out of my hair completely.

  • great video !

  • Thanks girl

  • You look so fly to day Mrs Shida! I'm dying to get some Ayurvedic powders but have no clue where to get some.

  • You have to have an Indian / Pakistanian market near you somewhere, or possibly an Asian market.

  • i keep hearing great things about indian oils and powders...i need to get on that lol.

  • Yea, they're really nourishing to your hair and scalp, and really strengthens your hair, promoting growth and makes your hair luxuriant.

  • Also, I see why you like your wash n gos, your hair looks great, has a lot of bounce, and is vibrant. Wish I could do wash n gos but my hair hates them, lol.

  • When are you gonna post a profile pic of yourself so we can see what you look like and what hair type y ou have. I bet if you found the right styling products, you could achieve awesome results with a wash and go.

  • Vatika Oil is the only oil from Dabur that I'd ever consider buying. I used it a lot in the summer few years back, but stopped because I make a toss-in-bunch-o-herbs infused oil. But, Vatika Oil from Dabur is very good.

I think Amla loosed my curl pattern a bit and gave softer hair. I still use it, but not that often due to wanting tighter curls--but so love the softness got from it. Weird. I'm bigger on Brahmi at the moment. Brahmi oil helps with headaches also, and I get migranes.

  • I asked Renuca, the owner of the indian store I go to, if they had Brahmi powder. She said when she goes to the market, she'll look for some to bring back to the store, but the market she goes to didn't have any. So for now, I'm just doing the Amla, Shikakai & Aritha powder mix, then I'll add the Brahmi to it once I get some. I need to find an Amla oil brand that doesn't have mineral oil in it, but for now I really like the Vatika along with the other natural oils I use in my daily regimen.

  • Informative video i might try the alma one day. I think I am the first to comment ha ha...i am addicted to this site...I cannot get enough of you tube and watching natural hair care videos. I love watchin your videos :-) Have a blessed day!

  • Hey Jess... Congrats on being the first to comment. Yea, I love the Amla powder. It really has strengthened my hair and has darkened it just a teeny bit.
