  • This is such a neat idea. My friend is going through a tough time at the moment and a home made gift like this will be just the tonic. Thanks x

  • Isn't cheaper to buy a brand of bath salt than buy all that stuff to make your own.

  • do you need both salts?

  • you are so lovely dear

  • Question: Would adding food coloring to the bath salts stain the tub or make the water colorful?

  • won't the salt dry out your skin?

  • great...I've been buying bath salts..my favorite is a Bolivian rose..at $13 for a small heart shaped bottle ! Now I see I can make my own. I found where I can buy Bolivian Rose salt on line in 5 lb. bags so I assume I can just substitute the Bolivian salt for the the sea salt in your recipe.

  • i think you should keep the salt and essential oils separate, dissolve the salt mix in the water 1 st then drop in the oils right before going in the tub and that's because the essential oil are volatile they start evaporating as soon as the air reaches it just a though...love the video great info

  • thanks for this...i just snorted a huge line after following your instructions and wow ifeel great now i know what bath salts are all about.

  • @Patriot2572 grow up dickweed..what are you a 14 year old boy or just talk like one..

  • You have such an awesome personality! I enjoyed your tutorial! Thanks so much!

  • Are you a wiccan? :D

  • why backing soda??

  • @crazycutz Baking soda heals, both physically and emotionally.

  • @crazycutz Are you paying attention? She said right there in the video that it is an anti-caking agent, so that it doesn't stick into a big clump.

  • @IllyriaGodKing didnt know what a anti caking agent was.. but then i took an arrow to my knee :)

  • why backing soda??

  • i just met you & i love ur video; so i subscribed :}

please tell me, the orange peel - is that just from home, like you shaved the oranges yourself? also the flowers, are they store bought or literally picked from plants outside? im really into natural remedies and DIY techniques please advies

    thank you

  • love this! cant wait to make my own!

  • Do you dump all of it in the tub?

    or just a small scoop

  • @BrokenOracle1

I put in about a cup per bath. Let it dissolve before you get in.

  • Is the sea salt you add in a granular form like table salt or more like rock salt?

  • You would not believe what I went through to get that Epsom salt ;) I currently live in Estonia. So HI FROM ESTONIA ...

  • is it safe to put the herbal salts in the water without being in a muslin bag?

  • @iluvmytigber I do so all the time, I just have one of those $2 hair stopper which stops all the bigger herbs from possibly clogging the drain.

  • what is the sea salt for

  • @567treehugger-- dude why dint I think of that?!

  • Did she put in a Table spoon of baking soda or a tee spoon

  • I was wondering about the herbs,

    1. The orange peel, are they dried and ground, or like dried "orange zest"? Or any other way?

    2. I have my own lavender plant, do you use the whole flower? och just the small miniflowers?

Could really use the help, making theese for christmas gifts!^^

  • @Mauo11 Zest has always worked best for me.

I use all the flowers as long as they're still nice and fragrant.

  • I made mine with KOOL-AID! Yeah I did not have any herbs or oils at the time sooo.. yeah but now my bath water is red and taste like Cherry Kool-Aid!

  • @567treehugger altho this is very funny and awesome you shld first look at what kind of stuff that kool-aid is made of. i dnt think it contains things that are postive o the skin. i hope u dnt do it often. good thing to use would be a half cup of vinigar. altho it doesn't smell the greatest it definatley leaves a smooth feeling. especialy when paired with epsom salt. Blessed Be

  • Are Rose Pettals Herbs?

  • Are Rose Pettlas Herbs?

  • where do you buy your essential oils?

  • haha, i just love this video...felt like rewatching it since i just whipped up a batch of bathsalts myself! lavender and lemongrass! working on making some rosemary and mint oils too! :)

  • Your video has sparked my interest and I was getting the ingrediants earlier today at our local market. I was wondering if lemon grass oil could be substituted with just lemon? I love your videos, thanks for such uplifting and fun activities~! BB )O(

  • @Saphira246 Most likley!

  • hey everybody

  • whered u get the epsom salt?

  • I just love your videos. You're such a happy person. YAY!!! :)

  • Hey Flora!

    I have a question.

Ive started to harvest some flowers from my garden and after ive dried and bottled them, are they suppose to smell rotten?

  • Thanks

    The Wizard of BOD

  • This is awesome!!..Blessed be thanks for this vid!

  • this woman reminds me of acelebrity! i cant put my finger on the person just yet but im gunnalet it mellow a while LOLOL

  • @cutelli87 I KNOW WHO IT IS SHE REMINDS ME OF.......HOLLY MADISON one of the playboy bunnies only this lady had black hair i swear to god go find a picture of holly madison from playboy and compare! even the voice is the same, holly was from alaska originally are u from alaska pixieflora?

  • @cutelli87 OHMYGOSH you're right! She does look like her, and the voice! Wow, I never noticed before.

  • When making the bath salts with essential oils, do you have to dilute the essential oils first?

  • question.....with the herbal salts.....the petals....isn't it strange or doesn't it clog the drain? like......that seems strange

  • @DeLeeriaLace u would nrmally scoop it into a sachet or muslin bag or a small drawstring bag to act as a strainer and the salts dissolve in the warm bath water

  • @DeLeeriaLace if you were worried about that, just put the mixure into an old pair of pantyhose and tie a knot, or those little drawstring bags made of mesh! :D

  • @DeLeeriaLace If you dont want to add the herbs as they are you can grind them up if you have a mortar and pestle :)

  • that was great!!!! I'm heading to the store for supplies now! yay!

  • do you just pick the flowers and petals? or do you have to buy them?

  • hah that sounds almost like a direct english to french translation (bicarbonate de soude)

it kinda sucks cuz sea salt is so easily available and cheap but it would have all the ocean pollutants to go along with the minerals. :-| if only i knew a cheap place to get epsom salts..or dead sea salts

  • how much of the bathsalt do u put in

  • I Love this, How would one go about adding color to them or is it recommended?

  • fabulous.

  • You are so charming! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • i was wondering where you got your essential oils from?

  • You should think about making these baths and sell them on etsy. That would be awesome and I bet people (like me) who works 6 days per week, 10-11 hours per day, would appreciate it soooo much and purchase! LOL

I'm raiding Sophia's and Phanie's store again! Thank you so much for this and all your helpful videos!

    Blessed be xx

  • yay I got the first book but the 2nd one I used to own I lost it when I moved D: the third one I never heard of but I'll check if the library has it otherwise I have to order dang tiny town has a tiny book store.

  • with the herbal mix do you let the flowers go down the drain or do you catch them in a cloth?

  • What I did was if the herbs were big then I would put one of those kind you use for catching hair otherwise I would put one down then over it a wash cloth.

  • Don't forget to check on the Medicinal qualities so you don't have a bad reaction from the physical properties of the ingrediants!

  • Yay! Thanks for this, I am gonna try. =]=]

  • where's a good place to buy oils? i'm pretty poor and there's no new age or occult shops around here

  • Well done!

  • I do believe that I just found my co-workers Holiday gifts for this year! Yay! This was so awesome, and to think you did 2 different ones in just 10 minutes. You are amazing girl! BB :)

  • Great video! I add a lot more drops when I make mine, lol. I love a nice strong smell, I only add a little bit to the bath, usually about a tsp-tbsp. How much do you usually use??

    BB )O(

  • I use alot of the blends...I have a large jar in my bathroom with my fav in...I also have a shell I use as the scoop...I use three or four scoops per bath.

  • awesome!!!! thank you for sharing this!!! n_n

  • I have yet to work with essential oils, but it seems like such a small amount for so much salt?

  • Essential oils are very concentrated. Only a very little amount is needed.

    xx

  • That's so awesome! Good idea, too.

  • Great video! Do the oils tend to stick to just one part of the salt or does it disperse through the whole jar?

  • Great video. Great book recommendations. I don't have Cunningham's herb book anymore. I also recommend Mastering Herbalism by Paul Huson for a slightly different point of view. I'm off to plot future bath salts. This was awesome! Blessings!

  • This is so ironic, just a few days before you made this video i made some herbal bath salts... Awesome video i just wish it was up a few days sooner! lol!

  • I can't tell you how excited/happy I am that you made this video!!! I have been wanting some to make a video about exactly this girl!! YAY I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! hehehe!!! ^^

How much would you use in your bath and how do you keep the herbs from going down the drain or do you need to worry about that? Sorry for my maybe stupid questions? lol

    Luv ya! xoxo

  • You can use a large muslin bag (you can make out of muslin) or you can just use any cloth bag and put the herbal salts in it. then drop it in the tub. Or you can just let them float and put a hair catcher type thing on the drain and that will catch most of the herbs. I just dump a bunch in...I never usually measure. Epson salt is only like $2 a bag...so it really is inexpensive. (never a stupid question!)

    Hugs to you~!!!

  • we just use one of those sink drain strainers in our tub. i HAVE to have all the flowers floating around, its an ambiance thing i guess! it makes me feel like a princess, lol!

  • Thank you so very much sweets!!!!!!!!!!!! hugs

  • I can't take baths in the house i have now, It's just a REALLY uncomfortable bathtub...So a MUST for my new house is going to have to be a Bath-able Bathtub LOL....Is Bath-able a word? If not i just made it up!

But i will have to throw this vid in my favs so that I can refer to it when i get that better Bathtub! YAY!

  • LOL...Bathable..I would use that as a word.

    Yay!

  • You know, we already do Epsom salt/baking soda baths with our kids for health purposes. Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate, both of which our essential for detoxification. And the baking soda helps protect the skin from the drying effects of the salts. So, I can just add some sea salts, herbs and oils and I'll be set! WooHoo!

Thanks for this instructional video! :D

    )O(

    boo

  • If I were to make some for gifts and I don't have a lot of cash, what blend would you recommend that will still smell really nice?

  • Lav. is always a big hit, so is any of the mints...Those can be used for relaxation baths...you can get any of the citris family for energizing.
