  • german sounds so freaking awesome!

  • speaks in germany ?

  • @victus007 Yup.. and the intro of Dracula X Chronicles too...

  • omfg richter looks like ryu lolz

  • So bad it's good! I couldn't get into the professional voice acting of Lords of Shadow, I miss the good old days when Konami cutscenes were like B movie cult classics.

  • Aw that poor girl with the boobs...

  • Best Part = 2:14

But ESPECIALLY the guitar at 2:27 - 2:38

  • I was so disappointed when it came to the WII they didn't release the full original they put the Japanese PSP version of the original with the new dialogue into track. Not this one. I never regret the 300 bucks I put into the PC-Engine. Its the best!

  • the VC version of rondo of Blood has a different narrator with a deeper voice.

  • @Barrylocke They used the PSP Japan version voice. If you like it thats cool. But I can't figure out for the life of me why they did that.

  • @ZAPPSOFT I actually do prefer the psp voice, so yay for me.

  • 1. This game only made it to japan on it's original DOS Release

    2. The plot takes place in Romania (Transylvania) I'm pretty sure

    3. They speak . . . German? xD!

  • i know this because i was born in romania und today im living in germany (near cologne)

the fact is, that the people in japan loves german voices

the german speech seems to be very exotic for the japanese people

for them, the german language, is a symbol for the middle age

  • nice intro

but i have to say that some people don't understand why they are speaking german

the area where transilvania is, is also called "siebenbürgen" because there were some german people who moved to romania ... but this is long ago and today there are only small villages where the olders speaks german but not that much

and even the speaker hasn't romanian accent

  • Nice!

    Pretty nineties.

  • Auf der Wii wurde der Sprecher und der Text ausgetauscht.

  • how do you make this run right on vista?

  • Translation:

In the good old time, mankind still lived in peace.

nobody believed, that a menace was about to come.

On the dark side of peace and development, existed and always existed, the evil.

Mankind began to decline the development, and designated peace as degeneration.

We are gathered here, to call the evil forces with our cursed blood.

We want, that they rule the world.

Smiling, we await the downfall of the world.

  • After 100 years, the evil was revived. He can turn into a bat, a wolf and fog. He loves the night. He drinks the blood of young girls and lives eternally.

The castle lord of the devils castle, the lord of evil,

    Count Dracula was revived.

  • the fact its in German ads to the atmosfere

  • the voice acting is actually good :O

  • The narration should have been on the soundtrack, it's that good

  • im german. he speaks really perfect with no accent.

  • He speaks with German accent because German was one of the languages spoken in Romania.

  • best castlevania ever made

  • I agree! Nowadays exist a remake of this for the PSP.. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles... It´s Rocks!

  • voice actor is ridiculous - sounds like the archetypical boring, german priest

  • This reminds me the fact of Shaft, the character who´s managing the ritual of Dracula´s Rebirth, is a Priest.. a Dark Priest. Add to this fact the region they´re, Romania, than you get the accent.

So, the archetypical is well applied, and who is ridiculous is you.

  • are you a german native speaker? because i am. And if you're not, you better don't comment on things you don't understand.

  • You´re continuing to be a moron. "I SPEAK GERMAN!"... Who Cares!? What´s in discussion is the archetypical, and it´s very well applied.

So... being not a moron, do a favor to us. Translate what he´s speaking please, and post it here. I understand very well english butI don´t understand what they´re speaking in this movie. In fact, I always thought they´re speaking in pure German.

  • they are speaking pure german - maybe my first comment sounded somewhat hostile, but i really think the intro is funny - i made the priest remark because konami probably grabbed "that one guy that is german" they could find in japan, and in a time when CD games and voiceovers were pretty new, that makes it even more hilarious. another wonderful example is the intro of robo aleste on sega CD.

  • also, i love that game.

some funny stuff the guy says:

"er schlürft das blut junger frauen"

= he is slurping the blood of young women"

sounds totally funny in german, since you would never say that in such a serious context - makes it sound really comical.

also pretty funny how he speaks the voice of that other guy in the vid too, and just pretends to be someone else - reminds me a lot of the clichéd german priest, as i said before :)

  • Thank you! Thanks a lot. This is a complete different perspective of this Intro. I agree with you now... that´s a "german ritual" made from someone that isn´t german. I see this all the time with our Carnival. When someone that isn´t Brasilian tries to create a replica of our Carnival, a comedy appears! :P

Sorry ´bout I´m being hostile too... You´re a nice guy.. I´m some kind tired of some critics I receive here in YouTube... I´ve overreacted... Sorry again.

  • @AtTheGates I think it has to do with the fact that a Japanese guy is trying to speak german.

  • Hehe, denkste. Der Sprecher ist Klaus-Dieter Klebsch, den man vor allem als die Deutsche Stimme von Dr.House kennt. (kein Scheiss!)

Eng: Der Narrator isn't "that one guy that is german", it's the german Voice Actor Klaus-Dieter Klebsch, who is better known as the German Voice of Dr.House.

  • damn, that's quite bizarre, haha. anyway, he did a terrible job, but he probably (rightly) didn't care, since in japan they couldn't tell the difference of a good or a bad german voice actor i guess ;)
