How to install Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope 1/2

Can any one HELP me, I have a problem with my ubuntu 9.04, When it boots up the login sound gets stuck in a loop and never stops. Any help? Oh yeah, It works fine on my other computer. My hp laptop has a built in surround sound, Altec Lansing. maybe that has something to do with it...

windows 7 will be better then mac, but dont forget that snow leopard is coming out for mac so basically there ganna stay equal unless there are some softwares that make mac or windows 7 better

lol yeah they screwed the pooch, windows 7 is actually plenty better than vista however.

yeah, idk just looks like any other type of windows vista just with a fatter task bar with weird effects, seems it would just eat up more ram

it doesn't, windows 7 uses about half the ram vista did and it boots up about 5 times as fast

I'm going to do it your way, as it is easier for me but I ran into a problem.... which virtual box to I use the one for linux or xp. cus I'm going from xp to ubuntu

Virtualbox only installs ubuntu in a virutal machine to really install it on your computer you would need to put it on a flash drive or a cd

You can also install it on another section of your hard drive. I have a video on that.

it says I need to burn the file to a cd (different download site, sorry!) can't I just use daemon tools to mount it....

I'm not sure if you can it would be better to burn a cd if installing it on a computer or use a flash drive

do u know how i can install Ubuntu 9.04 on an External HD, i tired the steps on how to's on USB flash drive but it didnt work. the external drive is 3.5" and powered(cant work, if not pluged in the wall)...thx
