  • I hope Ranchers, ODFW, and Hunters wipe out all the wolves in oregon. I hope the same goes on in all the rocky mt states aswell.

  • These wolves eat deer, elk, whatever moves, to think that they don't eat themejustuso is to say he isnt a mexican national

  • the number of deer and elk killed by wolves every year is completely wrong in your world bud... wolves kill for the sport of it.. not for food... look at deer and elk numbers in idaho since they have been dropped off like abandoned dogs... they are useless to the environment and to me they look like big coyotes

  • @natewooten22 the tree huggers think there cute but they might be wondering where all the deer went.

  • i had great sucess with my dad there dureing 2010 fall bear and 2010 general deer and general elk it was a good season

  • AWESOME! TOTALLY AWESOME! I HOPE MORE AND MORE WOLVES MAKE IT UP INTO WILLAMETTE PASS AREA!

  • Erinnetter: Please let the adults carry on the conversation. You rely on emotion, have zero facts & blame everyone else instead of looking in the mirror. My guess is you’ve never read the ESA, or the CAA. Before you discharge spilge out of your pie hole you should. What’s the consequences of the efficient combustion of organic matter? CO2. You slept through science class didn’t you? Glad you got an A in English though, how’s that working for you?

  • ok...so there are 10 wolves in Oregon so far...good news!!!!

  • erinnetter: fyi, i am in school. i actually live in a place where you need to manage wildlife, and that means everything. for my final in biology, i did research and found out that most people believe that wolves are the dominant predator where they are found. so your telling me that i never went to school and dont know anything? it looks like you need to read up some more, especially if you comment every damn day on this video. and don't call everyone illiterate, people tend to get pissed off.

  • Well, good news 2 more wolves will be shot anytime now they killed 5 more Beef cows. Now for starters, only a very small % of oregonians hunt. Farmers hate deer and elk, And get death warrants for them as well. Why cant you hippies understand we need to manage "ALL WILDLIFE" yes, that includes "WOLVES" deer, elk, bear, couger, frogs, fish, cats, dogs, rats, mice, mokeys, and hippies.

  • There's nothing more beautiful then seeing animals such as these surviving, even though there are stupid people out there who want to kill them for wanting to survive.

  • WOW! How about managing the human population who, by their own free will, decide to live in the middle of a forest. where wildlife is abundant? Seriously folks, where is the logic? And to Puddlejumper98: How the hell do you think wildlife functioned before humans with big guns moved in the area? The only predator I see is the human population, who is growing in size and ignorance with no concern for any other species of animal or plant life. Kind of sad we are space explorers.

  • SHOOT IT!

  • @joedirt116 You must mean SHOOT YOU! Right?

  • Wolves can breed 3 times a year people. Thats up to and beond 30 new pups per year per female. Wow how many fawns are born per year per doe? How many calves are born per year per cow. K about 2 per doe or cow. Lets see buy the tree huggers way. wolves will have consumed the population in about 5 years give or take. then the wolves will be on to the little cildren playing in the park. We need to manage them not get rid of them. Tards

  • @puddlejumper98 Try using spellcheck, or maybe a dictionary

  • Hey " tbrogoitti" I love wolves and all wild life. Yes wolves kill for the thrill, yes the healthy ones. Sick ones would be eating. We f----D the system up years ago a now we need to manage ALL WILDLIFE not just a few. And yes now we need to kill off more bears and cougers and coyoties to make room for the not so hungry animal killing wolves that tree huggers like your self wanted. Till you live it, see it and breathe it keep your AZZ in portland.

  • I count 12

  • So let me get this right? The wolf population eats the deer and elk, reducing their populations, which makes hunters pissed? Yea I know that story. Like the seal clubbing in Canada. Gotta kill 300,000 newborn seals cause they will eat all the salmon. Nature competing with human consumption. The problem lies with humans over hunting and over fishing. The animals are not to blame. Nature could go on as intended, but we have to intervene because we want all the elk, deer and salmon to ourselves.

  • @sharliz79 You took the words right out of my mouth

  • The reason people want deer and elk populations to be large is so that people can kill them. The wolves eat them because they are hungry. They deserve it more than humans.

  • @roccorocket RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @roccorocket Exactly how do they deserve it more? Sorry, but your arrogance is not to be applauded. We are the ultimate species able to take down larger and more aggressive prey. People hunt to eat as well I am finding your logic absurd and reflective of idiotic liberal hippies. If anything both humans and wolves deserve to hunt equally.

  • @normandyeurope Luckily for me, I don't care about the opinions of a right wing animal murderer. YOUR arrogance is not to be applauded.

  • @roccorocket What possibly implied out of my statement that I was a right wing animal murderer? Seriously take anything out of my statement. I said both equally deserve to hunt. I didn't say go out and kill wolves did I? No, because wolves deserve to be alive and well and hunt for prey just like us. Typical liberal putrid talk of others that don't fully 100% agree with their statements.

  • @roccorocket And btw I am socially liberal without a doubt.

  • @normandyeurope If you're socially liberal, why do you use terms like "idiotic liberal hippies" and "typical liberal putrid talk"? I am a liberal, and proud of it. And I don't think man was put on this earth to have "dominion" over animals. I don't approve of hunting animals unless it is specifically because one NEEDS it to survive. I don't think that just because we can kill animals, we should. It is not okay to hunt just to have a head with antlers on your wall.

  • @roccorocket Okay I think we are saying the same exact thing now just in different ways. Oh I use hippie and liberal as a derogatory because I hate the far left more than I hate the far right by a long shot and I'm an Atheist is what makes that funny. I am extremely socially liberal in the fact I am for gay rights and indifferent to changing anything about abortion. I personally can't stand any homosexual I have met and I am extremely homophobic, at least I admit it. Fiscally I'm very far right.

  • @normandyeurope Okay, I think we have reached a truce in our disagreement. You are an interesting paradox. I'm sorry you hate the far left more than the far right - I am the opposite. In fact, I don't hate the far left at all. And it's too bad you haven't met any gay people you like. I have met many. But at least you don't want to take away their rights even though you are homophobic. I think I would drive you crazy because I am far left fiscally. I'm glad you are not an animal murderer.

  • @roccorocket Since when did it become better for an animal to have rights, than a human to have their rights? Everyone that I know that hunts (myself included) do so for the meat. So since both groups are killing the same thing for the same reason, why is it that an animal that holds no say in the direct impact of human lives (especially those of you that live in Portland and Eugene) has more say in the state that I pay taxes in? I'm fine with the wolves, but regulated hunts ins't a bad idea.

  • dballrobey, you are absolutely right. ODFW does not do anything to the population of deer and elk. there is 2 wolves within 10 miles of my home. first, researchers said that wolves would only be released in Wyoming and Montana, then Idaho, and now Oregon? that is not right any rancher! Wheather people like it or not, residants any citizens are gonna start killing wolves, and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it. to those people, I say go for it!

  • YUP i have a ranch just outside of Baker Or. i just started calving 3 wks ago and i HAVE in fact been slingin lead! wolves do kill for fun and i have personaly seen this first hand.i shot 2 while riding and checkin my cows. they just sat back and waited for the calf to drop and tore the shit out of it then walked away.

  • @UncleSwampAss and i burryed a 3 yr old before she calved and she was there about 3 days and was just nibbled on. all of this less than 2000 yards from MY HOUSE where i have 2 and 3 yr old kids. these are some very big dogs!! it is 100% impossible to mistake one for a yotie.

  • @UncleSwampAss MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @UncleSwampAss The WOLVES belong there, NOT YOU!!!

  • @kobyessex You're not very BRIGHT are you? Learn how to spell, you must not have paid attention in school. Maybe you never went. As far as the killing goes, you will go to JAIL if you go on a killing spree. Get your facts straight!

  • I thought that this was a very cool video and would love to see something like this with my own eyes!

  • First of all jakec12 the only reason elk and deer numbers are good in Oregon is because the wolves have only started making a comeback here, second ODFW is defintely not the reason; typical government agency all about the money. The more we let wolves gain in numbers in Oregon the less deer and elk we will have. Just go to Idaho and look around. The only thing is you might have to leave those hell hole tree hugging cities you all live in and actually go look around the back country,

  • @dballrobey Why do we need MORE deer and elk in Oregon? There are enough here for the wolves.

  • How many of you have actually worked with and studied wolves? How many of you aren't just hunters who are just looking for an excuse to hunt a predator or ranchers who are too lazy to put up real fencing?

No HEALTHY wolf will kill just to kill. If they don't eat the whole animal then something was wrong with it or they got scared away. NO animal kills just to kill other than the human animal. YOU guys are the idiots. Some of us understand how a delicate ecosystem works.

  • Ok tbrogoitti and silence, where do you people live, city or country? You're full of shit and tree huggin liberals. Tell me a wolf doesn't kill just for the taste of blood. I've seen first hand what one wolf can do in 5 minutes. This was in Oregon City and a friend of mine had 30 ducks on his property. We went inside for 5 minutes and a wolf hade killed or maimed 24 ducks during that time. With a lucky he shot he drilled the bastard square dead in the muzzle then we dumped his carcass.

  • Oh, and was this wolf wild, or an escaped animal some idiot thought he could keep as an impressive pet? There are no wild wolves near Oregon City. Stray dogs do the same kind of damage and worse. I grew up in Marion county, grass-seed capital of the world, if that answers your question. Yeah, baby. Hug that tree. Then go get me a burger, the Statesman Journal, and stop trying to bait me with dead ducks, dead dogs, and bad grammar, sweetcakes.

  • LOL, I wondered when a grammar lesson would arrive. You could be right about the animal being a pet that escaped, it was over 30 years ago. Enjoy your burger and hug that tree. To set the record straight, I'm not talking about fullscale elimination of wild animals as they do form part of the ecosystem. But there does need to be some type of control and a balance. Either extreme is certainly too much. And how do you know my cakes are sweet? Have fun.

  • Oh, so the wolf was alone huh? That means he was either a pet that someone stupidly kept as a pet, OR was a lone wolf. Lone wolves are LONE because they aren't healthy. NO HEALTHY wolf would kill just to kill. I am not a tree hugging liberal, I AM however an educated, wolf rescuer. There is NO animal (healthy) that will kill just for the pleasure of killing. Period. I can also tell you, there is no danger to the deer or elk population being too low. They are thriving just fine.

  • Hey there tbrog - not to cause any trouble, but to say that no healthy animal would kill for the sake of killing is like saying Ted Bundy didn't exist. It happens - bummer to all of us but it does. As for the rest, and being a former Eastern Oregon resident, the only reason the deer and elk pop. is doing ok is thanks to ODFW.

  • Case in point, I said no HEALTHY animal. Ted Bundy was not a HEALTHY human animal.

The deer and elk wouldn't have to be watched by ODFW if hunters didn't take more of their share for so long, of the deer AND their land. There shouldn't have to be this much competition. Nature does a great job of keeping populations in check if humans wouldn't meddle with stuff. The Native Americans and the animals all got along great and in balance, and then more humans came and overpopulated ourselves.

  • @tbrogoitti You mean white man came, that's what happened.

They don't respect the laws of nature, because they don't care.

  • @6806goats1 At least the TREE-HUGGING LIBERALS all know how to write and spell correctly, UNLIKE, (well now what should we call you?) BLOOD-THIRSTY BASTARDS, I have read all of the comments and only the TREE-HUGGERS seem to have any intelligence. I tend to side with INTELLIGENCE!

  • @tbrogoitti RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Majestuoso if you are going to talk about studies that have been done, maybe you should go to talk to the Salmon Idaho fish and game. In just one winter a herd of 375 elk were cut in half, and the wolves only ate half of the ones they killed. Let me guess, your response is that half the herd was sick right. Better look at both sides before you talk.

  • I hunt the same area,20+ years, where these wolves were filmed & can tell you first hand that the herds of deer and elk are just not there anymore. I've personally talked to people who live in that area and the troubles they've had with wolves coming right up to their cabin doors. These predators are populating faster the the feds anticipated. There is a reason why our forefathers nearly made the wolves extinct. Haven't we learned from our history books and now have to recreate it?

  • @spookiestinkbug -Like I said previously, the wolves were here long before white man came and started killing everything in site, and the wolves will still be here after the white man has killed HIMSELF OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @erinnetter here is the answer to some of you stupid comments. Yes you are right they were leaving food behind because they do just kill to kill rather than to eat what they kill. You said it yourself. Second we do need elk and deer because they keep the forage eaten down. More grass left behind means more fire, considering you liberals dont let us log anymore.(Whole different subject) Third hunting brings in alot of money to idiots in control, no animals no money. just look at idaho .

  • Or you better do YOUR research. If only half were eaten then the most likely senario is that the wolves were scared off by something. Probably a human that was intruding. If the ranchers took more measures to protect their animals then it wouldn't happen. Just something like a guardian dog or a couple of Lamas and they wouldn't have such a wolf/coyote problem. Also, if stupid people would stop thinking owning wolves/wild animals as pets was a good idea there would be less getting loose to kill.

  • @dballrobey Maybe they were leaving some food for other animals.

  • Everyone is so right. Lets kill all the meateaters. Cmon lets go. Grab your gun and lets go. Wait a minute............you just had a hamburger.

  • It's not a wolf pack! It's actually Jacob and his wolf buddies!!

HAHA! I'm just kidding. I hate Twlight.

But I do love wolves! ;)

  • Oregon isn't Minn or WI. They also tend to Kill 30 sheep in a night.(Keating Valley) Probably didn't read that in your study. Did they just get the weak and sick ones there? The ecosystem there can't handle another species like the wolf. Forest creatures are at an all time low in the Imnaha because of the cougars. I see it with my eyes Garbage07 you should open yours and shut you Pie Hole until you know what you're talking about. Solve the problem and get ride of the emotion.

  • Wow sad to see people are STILL uneducated about the wolf. Good thing there are people like TheMajestuoso. Still makes me mad that people will talk about the wolf like it's some kinda psycho maniac killer :\

  • Wolves tend to eat the old, sick and infirm deer, demolish the coyote population and kill or drive cougars into the canyons. The number of deer killed by wolves is a drop in the bucket compared to collisions with motor vehicles. Studies have shown wolves have minimal negative impact on deer populations. Just look at other states like Minnesota or Wisconsin and their studies. There is no reason anymore for the misconceptions about wolves as demented killers.

  • @cubbyboy49 - Or could it be the HUNTERS are the ones that are killing off all of the deer, elk and the other creatures. STOP blaming the wolves and the cougars, THEY are not the problem. The problem is all of the illiterate HUNTERS out there who can't read, BLAME THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hmmm you must be a fan of Palin killing wolves then. hmmm let turn the tables on you see what you would do if it was you..... They are not hurting anyone and we have wolf proof our fences and it was a success and none have been killed. research how to make better fencing and security. Alot of people have took my advice and followed my designs and they have wolf proof fence and security. Do you???

  • I guess many people don't wanna eat since the wolves kill many livestockand wildlife. I'm sure most of you eat beef and some types of wildlife but oh well yay for the wolfs. IDOITS

  • @awaggoner07 - Once again, an illiterate trying to tell us the ways of the world. Have you ever heard of people who don't eat BEEF, which by the way are one of the reasons for global-warming. People need to eat less beef or none at all. What kind of wildlife do you eat? CROW? Help us all!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • First, the only species documented (scientifically and historically) killing "just to kill" is Homo sapiens. Second, you get lost in backcountry and yes, you'll die- probably from hypothermia or starvation because you were stupid enough to go off-trail and get lost. Third, ranchers should already have taken measures to protect their herds from other predators( coyotes and cougars) and if they haven't they're either lazy, stupid, or don't care about protecting their investment and livelihood.

  • And just how much do you think it would cost a rancher to build a fence to keep out wild animals? Why would you care, hey save the coyotes, wolves and cougars. Either you're veggans or believe that meat is grown in a store and like the taste of shit beef. Don't spout your BS about man killing man, it doesn't even fit into the argument. I'm a right wing nut job warmonger and served in the military for 20 yrs now I'm in Iraq/Afgan to be part of wiping out the Taliban. I doubt you served.

  • Actually, dear, I've grown up on beef I helped my father raise, fish he caught, and game he hunted. You're right, I haven't served, but I've sent four of my best friends to Iraq and Afghanistan. I worry about them every damn day. What does that have to do with wolves, other than your pathetic desire to vindicate an ignorant and misinformed opinion through argumentum ad personum? BY the way, it's "vegan" and that fence costs between $41-$175 per mile over 20 years. Good gaurd dog costs less.

  • I'm impressed, you're not the city slicker I envisioned. Thank you for concern about your friends well being and glad they are serving in whatever capacity, military or civilian. We may disagree but I wish them safe from harm. My point (somewhere in my drivel) was in responce to your view on man being more of a butcher than wild animals, which is a valid point. I just didn't see how it related to wolves. And Ms. you stay outta my pathetic desires. Barb wire might be that cheap but would do...

  • little to keep wild animals out. Works great to keep livestock in but it would take something much more substancial for the wild critters. Guard dogs would decrease rancher ROI and would more than likely become dinner for the pack. Once again it all comes down to economics and rancher profitability in these rough times. I concede to your intellect, I'm just a hick from Eastern Oregon. But that too is ok, I don't mind it at all. Someone has to fix all the electronics and mechanical items. Ciao.

  • @6806goats1 it costs approx $95 for 1 spool of barbed wire. and it dont even hold up to prairy goats...(antelope) or elk/deer

  • @UncleSwampAss so these tree huggin californian flat lander portland type hippy fuckers need to come out to my house and camp just inside my timber clame and snuggle up with a bush, or what ever it is they do and wait for a few to come give them puppy kisses. once i figure out just where they have been stayin they are all gonners. OH, and by the way.... not a one of them have collers or nothin and my nearest neighbor is 4 miles up the road and own corgies so i know it aint their dogs either!

  • @UncleSwampAss GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Video!!!

  • FTW! For the Wolves!!

  • YAY for Wolves!!!!!!!

  • This video is uplifting in a time when wolves are under attack. Please don't follow the path of Idaho! PLEASE!

  • Beautiful <3

  • Wonderful to see!

  • What wonderful news. How fantastic to have one of Oregon's long-missing native species back in our forests. Thanks, Oregon Fish and Wildlife, for posting this film.
