This was the first LP that introduced me to Uriah Heep when I was in the Army in 1976. I now own every one of their recordings up to Firefly on CD. Awesome group. I got to see them live in August of 1977 finally, but by then Byron was gone. Still a great concert that day.
URIAH HEEP was a mystical dream come true, DAVID BYRON was the leading wizard of the band along with MIck box Ken hensly Lee kerslake Gary thin and later john lawton john wetton was a living fantasy dream vocals and tunes that happened ONCE and WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN EVER,sometimes I wish if going back in time was a true posibility just to see that marvelous event that took place in that magical time.

I've listened to plenty of Heep, and, no I'm not a musician, but Mick Box (I'm getting ready to duck!), maybe I need to listen to a current live album, but, was he much of a flash player? Rough Diamond I actually prefer.
This particular song doesn't have many lead guitar parts... mostly rythym.
If you truly want to hear Mick Box, listen to "The Magician's Birthday". There is a "tour-de-force" on that song. That is one of the many reasons that Heep fans will protect the legacy of Mick Box.
I understand Sweet Freedom Has been re-released! Party down bros and sisters! My last copy was stolen 30 years ago! I got my copy back, finally. This was one of my favorite albums when I was 17. I'm 48 now. Kind of a bummer!

Nobody does a rock ballad like Byron could. His vocals were sublime and are unsurpassed. A REAL legend and sadly missed.
