Oh my gosh! I don't know how got here, but... Look at your feet! Specially at 1:47! I'd dare to say you have supinated feet! People with pronated or supinated feet should do pointe only under the supervision of a profesional teacher, 'cause that type of feet are very, very dangerous to work with. Specially on pointe! Try to take formal ballet classes, but don't do this lightly! You can get a serious injury! Ballet dancers usually go on pointe after four or five years of training!
you spent all that money on pointe shoes but haven't taken lessons? you obviously have amazing strength so there's no reason for you not to try formal classes. kudos for taking initiative though:)
if someone helped you to try out those shoes for you in a dance shop they were not doing their job properly, they don't sit well on your feet at all and you don't get the support you should have to do pointe work properly.
like many have said you could actually ruin your feet by not having a teacher/dancer show you basic exercises and how to break the shoes in as well. i hope you have found someone to work with by now and that you have hurt yourself!
My ballet teacher sys that the way to find your natural turnout is to put your legs and feet in parallel. and then in 1 single movement turn out your feet. you shouldn't have to keep stepping into it, it should just be there!
thats something to work on and gradually your turnout will be great&&natural!! ;D
This is a big encouragement for me as I just have to try doing pointe and there is no way that I can afford an expensive ballet teacher to tell me that I need four years of training before going en pointe so I ordered some pointe shoes and toe pads. Really wish there were some amoture ballet people around here to conspire with.
Jesus, you're really good! Better than most women I've seen do this. 'Though try to straighten your legs. You'll bust those ankles up. Have trouble walkin' the rest of your life. Dude (as you are).... don't you know those Pointe shoes are killers?
Thank you for not using the song "No More I Love You" right on top of your soundtrack. I'm REALLY gettin' kinda sick of that gimmick....

@sarahssanctum actually, you can tell by your video that you have had no proper training. firstly, you forced your 'first position' and secondly, your legs aren't placed properly, nor are your ankles.
oh my gosh - please please please take classes before attempting point! i feel like i can see your ankles breaking on the video. there are whole classes deticated to pre pointe, so its very silly to do this without training
cheers for your input though and your are welcome :)

Does this kinda prove that men can do pointe also?
funnyproduction1000 1 year ago
@funnyproduction1000- Of course men can do pointe. Mikhail Baryshnikov encouraged male ballet dancers to do pointe to fully understand the art.

try not to overstretch your turnout at 0:29.

@calif92627 it wont take four years. if you push yourself it could only be four months. it really isnt safe to just go on pointe with no trining.
