I had the distinct privilege of being part of the Hofstra Symphonic Band. A composer named Sam Hazo wrote a piece called "Bridges." It was commissioned by Virginia Tech to be performed for a memorial service, not sure how exactly it was done. Since he has seen our band before, was friendly with our director & knew us, he decided to send the music to our band so that we could perform it. It was an emotional journey to perform the piece! my heart goes out to those who had to suffer through this!
i would say this is my favorite tribute video, this is such an awesome video that you made for them. i hope there all doing better, coming up on the 1 year date people are still talking about it, which they should. i wear my virginia tech stuff more prowdly now more then i ever did before
Wow its awsome to see this song dedicated to 4/16.... we been signing this song since Feb in chorus and well after 4/16 i asked my choir director if we could dedicate this song to VaTech since i had a brother who went there and he agreed and well it ment alot to me and well i started cry when we sung this song at our concert
I think it is okay to remember but we also have to understand that there was a gunman and that he wanted the attention. I undestand Christioph Probst. I was upset with the way you made that comment that says kurosawasuperfan's reponse has been removed for gross insensitivity. What did you mean by that.
Kurowasuperfan made highly insensitive remarks. S/he used not only inflammatory words, but said some very deragatory remarks concerning the tragedy. I agreed with the request made by another viewer to remove the remarks because they were so hurtful.
This is so tragic, its awful. But Cho needs to be in it too really. He was one of many hundreds who also suffered for profits by the pharmaceutical industry - though we don't know which comopany as they aren't likely to say "he was on OUR drug with 'homicidality in clinical trials codes as nausea' as we don't want this known". I can understand (from not realising) well why he isn't included. Heartfelt sympathy to all the families.
ok,God bless them. but i still don´t understand why the Americans loves to do this thinks.
You only see and remember victims, you society don´t want to see your problems, i think you must ask yourself what the hell is wong. (how said pikrah..)
you are in the loves flowers, tributes and shows, but nobody think what is the real problem.
I don't believe that to be true. A tribute to the victims is just one facet to the bigger picture. Already Gov. Kaine is working on closing a legal loophole that allowed a suicidal person to buy a gun. There is a probe as to why this happened, to help prevent it from happening in the future. I think in the meantime, it is okay to grieve for those who lost their lives. Some people lay flowers, some light a candle, and some make visual tributes.
I made this because most of my friends graduated from VA Tech and I wanted to do something to show my support to them and the current students. I felt that this song conveyed not only the terrible sadness I and many others felt, but hope for the future as well.
This is one way we remember the victims in our culture today. Maybe it doesn't make sense to everyone, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. There is no wrong way to remember such a tragedy. I think a new generation (that many of the victims of this day were a part of) does want to look at the problems in our society. We have a lot of hope, and videos and tributes like this one help us build that hope while remembering those that died at the same time.
so, i can understand that. in our culture there is a badly pleasure, because it is considered a show behing a victims. can you understandme, im sorry i have a bad english. we remember to a victims in silence with a deep reflexion about the situations.
i respect you culture but don´t share. Both are agree about this was a tragedy completly avoidable.
I can understand you too. And I respect your way of remembering people you've lost. We might all just be on the defensive because this is such an emotional issue. Thanks for responding.
People tried to give it to him many times, and he always refused. That is why I believe that in the end, he did have a choice to make and he choose to take innocent lives.
I think if you kill that you do not go to heaven. It says do not kill in the bible and it says do not commite suicide. You are A mean not caring person when you say Fuck the dead students they did die.
ive just posted my own on youtube and am currently looking through tributes, its so sad, and nice to see so many people supporting in comments. Gwd vid mate
I understand u guys r sad i am too because my friend.... she went 2 that school and i miss her but i am sad he took her life and his. He didn't deserve 2 do that 2 other people and himself. I love u Mary K. Read!!!!!!!! R.I.P.
this was a beautiful tribute.. i cried through the whole video.. it was truly beautiful..
and i just want to say to those who say what about the shooter.. he don't deserve peace.. he killed a lot of people then him self.. he killed him self because he could not or would not take the punishement for what he did i it is hard to say but i hope he is in hell for this..he don't deserve peace .. what about all the people that are left.the pain he gave them
We live in a world who has lost what Jesus did and it's in momements like this that I am more and more conviced that we need Jesus Christ to reign from the sky.
i attend college n its hard for me to think that something like dis can happen wit tears in my eyes i pray for those who didnt reach there dreams may all ov uz reach your goals up n heavn RIP
Ok, how come I don't see anything about the guy who shoot all of them? what about him? Why can't he rest in peace? Fine if you wont say it I will R.I.P
I editted pl4yde's comment because it had slanderous language. To answer the question, I didn't put the shooter in because I felt it would be disrespectful to those who's lives he stole. I do offer his family my condolences, and would consider them part of the Hokie Friends.
good video man. almost made me cry. I want to help out so badly, but I don't know how. I want to be there for all of them, to give them a shoulder, or some encouraging words, but I can't. I guess watching tribute videos is my way of "being there" for them.
